Well, it’s not the Fourth anymore, but that’s ok – this was a really cute read, and if you’re looking for something fun and short, with heat, this would be an excellent choice. (Quick note though – I think I’d be a fabulous thing if Ellora’s Cave added a “search” bar to their webpage.)
Toni Eppard and Deacon Whitacre are happily in love, and engaged. The book starts out with Deacon asking Toni her fantasies – which lays the foundation for him being a caring, considerate lover, and partner.
I felt that there was a good balance between the characters – and in the story itself. It was mostly lighthearted with a few more serious moments, and focused on Toni and Deacon’s relationship. They’re not fake, and are likable characters.
Toni’s fantasy is being in a threesome, and conveniently, Deacon’s cousin Linc is home on leave for the fourth. (Yes, I do allow for artistic license and suspended belief.) Linc is all too happy to be the third, and the three of them engage in some very evocative sex.
It was nice because there was no unnecessary drama, but the important issues were addressed. There is a slight question as to whether Toni, Deacon, and even Linc can “go back to the way things were” – and thankfully, the answer is “yes.” Their relationship and situation is much like the book itself. Lighthearted, fun, and realistic, but not heavy.

The Summary:
Toni Eppard has a fantasy and her fiancé Deacon Whitacre wants to know more. When she describes her desire to be with two men, instead of being jealous, he is intrigued. Fate plays a hand when his cousin and best friend Lincoln Whitacre blows into town for the Independence Day celebrations.
The three of them grew up together, and Linc is the perfect candidate to help Deacon fulfill Toni’s fantasy. Once he convinces his cousin, the fireworks will fly as he sets the stage to make all of her dreams come true.
