Laura J* review of The Perfect Ten by Janice Maynard
Contemporary Erotic Romance published on 2 Jan 08 by NAL/Signet Eclipse
After reading my first book by Janice Maynard I was on an all out “I gotta read anything by Janice Maynard” kick. Well I finished the last book by her I had several months ago so I’ve been going through some major withdrawals. I was very excited when The Perfect Ten was finally in my hands.
The story begins when the three cousins are together working to develop Potion No. Ten. and to celebrate the women make a wish. As the women are wishing something that seems almost magical happens. Is Potion No. Ten really a love potion?
I have to say I was not disappointed and the book was well worth the wait. The characters are so well developed even in the short time frame I feel as if I had a read a full length novel. Mrs. Maynard easily brings all the characters together in each story that doesn’t distract from the heroine and her hero of that story, but adds to and builds the storyline. When the hero and heroine finally become intimate with each other, it is steamy, but at the same time very romantic.
Something juicy is brewing in the mystical Blue Ridge Mountains, where the beautiful Killaney cousins are concocting brand-new scents in their shop Lotions and Potions. One April night under a full moon, the three women create an alluring combination of eucalyptus, aloe, and sandalwood that sparks a strange chemical reaction. One whiff and men can’t seem to get enough of Love Potion #10 – or of the Killaney women – while Diana, Elizabeth, and Jeannie find themselves being swept off their feet and into their wildest fantasies…

Yeah! I get to pop Laura’s comment cherry!
So, is this an anthology of three seperate stories or is it all in one, with the three stories intertwined throughout the book?
Three separate stories, but the all the characters (except the men until after they are introduced) appear in the others’ stories.
I loved this book! Great romances and excellent heroines. Great grade.
