Before Sunrise by Diana Palmer
Grade: C-
Sensuality: Hot
Diana Palmer is one of those authors you either like, or you wonder what kind of Crack the people reading it took. I generally love Palmer’s writing and simply enjoy her books without overthinking them. Yes, there are some very repetitive elements in her books, including the older man, young virginal woman, jealousy, mixed signals, and many things you don’t expect in a contemporary setting, but for me they are fun, quick reads with oddly endearing characters. Before Sunrise features all of the above, but it had me sighing rather quickly, and not in a good way.
Phoebe Keller met Jeremiah Cortez right before she started her last year in college. Being an anthropology student, she wanted to bring him home and study him, but alas – he was much too old for her. They parted ways as she held out an offer to come to her graduation. The book begins at Phoebe’s graduation, which Cortez attends against his better instincts. Sparks fly! Spit is swapped! Petting is heavy! Car windows steam! He has personal problems! They decide to be pen pals!

Congratulations, I just read the review. I have to admit I haven’t read Diana Palmer in years and years, though “The Australian” used to be on my keeper shelf.
Congrats! 🙂 You could print the review out and keep it instead… 😛
And frame it and hang it over your bed 😉
My first review @ that site not @ the blog.
just saying
Gwen you sooooooooo need to taste the cracky goodness of a palmer book!
i used to love me some diana palmer, and her alter ego, susan kyle. But wasn’t she the one who had a hero with a hairy butt? or am i misremembering?
you know at my last count… the author I owned the most books by was Diana Palmer/Susan Kyle/Diana Blayne? err something like that and that was only at the 40ish mark I think. Hell really I *think* closer to 70 but really no way right? that is too many cuz I know there is many I don’t own.
shut up lawson
anyhoo I haven’t read many of them and I have to say I don’t recall a hairy butt but if I should find one – right after I finish going eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww I shall run right to the blog and post a big ol attention JAMI ALDEN THIS THE HAIRY BUTT U Meant? post…
just for you cuz I rock like that 😉
Sybil I am all eager awaitedness. Maybe it was a hairy back. i just remember dusting of fur where I’d prefer there not be fur. Hmm.
See Jami this is where I am suppose to say you is a dork but sadly I am all happy and want to use the title This Butt’s for U. I should have gwen find us a good pic of spuds mckenzie now.
What? We know I is a dork. I own at least 50 of these. Although you could be sadly disappointed, you sure it just wasn’t a furry chest or something. Of course I block out the mustaches and cigs so ::shrug::.
Damn, or is that the old Elizabeth Lowells? Or both? LOL…
I wish I could remember – maybe it wasn’t diana palmer, but I do remember some author trying to emphasize the hero’s manliness by describing an excess of body hair.
LOL – Ok so this is waaaaay too late to be posting on this thread, but Jami, you kind of have it. Most of DP’s heroes have an excess of body hair – on their chest/arms, etc.
[I… don’t remember butts/backs being hairy.]
I just discovered Diana Palmer a little over a year ago… and joined the crackwhoredom. I’ve read all but 12(?) of her books [sans Fearless]. Sometimes I wonder why I like her books… but I do.
Oh and Sybil, I block the cigs too. Up until a few years ago I think all her heroes smoked like chimneys.
p.s. – with the LTT books, I want to know how the hell so much happens in Jacobsville. My high school had more people than that town.
It is NEVER too late to post on any post… muchless a DP one *g*
