Lawson's review of Untamed by Hope Tarr
Historical romance released by Medallion Press 1 Feb 2008
This is the third in the series about three orphans who have come into their own. The first book followed Hadrian St. Claire, the second Gavin Carmichael, and now Patrick O'Rourke has his turn. Rourke has appeared in the first two books in the series, offering advice when his two friends have hit a rough patch with their respective loves. The question is to see if he can follow his own advice when things hit the rocks with his own new bride.

Gwen's review of Highland Fire by Hannah Howell
Historical romance re-released by Zebra 27 May 08
This historical with mild paranormal elements was originally released by Howell's alterego, Anna Jennet, in Nov 1995. For a peak at the original cover, just run your mouse over the cover to the left. I'm a huge Howell fan, so you know I just had to read this. Am I sad I did? No, but let's just say it wasn't on the same level of Beauty and the Beast.

Contemporary paranormal romance eBook novella released by Samhain Publishing 13 May 08
I like paranormal romances but I prefer that they are on the lighter side. I love Mary Janice Davidson and Kimberly Raye's vampires and even though Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampires are a little darker and more suspenseful, I still find the humor and mystery outweighs the suspense you find in most paranormals. This book was definitely for book for those who are like me, the ones who want sexy vampire heroes, some good vampire loving and a good storyline to go along with that.

Contemporary erotic romance released by Samhain Publishing 6 May 08
Maybe it's my mood, or my brain has melted, but this book just didn't do it for me. I'm one of those readers that always wants more, more, more emotion. I wouldn't mind if 90% of a book was just the characters developing their relationship. In fact, I prefer it. It's why I read romance. I don't need a sub-plot, no thriller or mystery, precocious child or serial killer. (Yes, an interesting list there.) While this book is all about Catherine's angst and her relationship with her husbands - it didn't grip me. The first 21 pages just said the same thing. A lot. Catherine is sad. She's pregnant. She's lonely.

Azteclady's review of Witch in the House by Jenna McKnight
Paranormal Romance released by Avon 25 Sep 07
This is the first book by Ms McKnight that I’ve read, and I was rather pleasantly surprised by the humor in it. Still, I don’t think I’m quite the audience for romantic comedies (I’m a bit of a curmudgeon—really, I am—and romantic comedies often leave me cold). And yet, this novel made me smile repeatedly.

Gwen's review of Playing Easy to Get by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jaid Black, and Kresley Cole
Paranormal romance anthology released by Pocket 7 Feb 06
This is an older (sheesh - 2 years) anthology that I picked up because it had the first Immortals After Dark story in it - Nikolai and Myst. It also has an earlier Sherrilyn Kenyon B.A.D. story and one of those goofy underground viking stories by Jaid Black. Here's a quick review and a handy dandy little contest at the end...

Devon's review of Racing the Moon by Michele Hauf
Paranormal romance ebook released by Silhouette Nocturne 1 May 08
Racing the Moon is the debut offering from Silhouette Nocturne's new Bites line, which consists of electronically published paranormal short stories. If you enjoy erotic romance novellas from epublishers like Ellora's Cave or Samhain, you will likely enjoy this story. You will certainly know what to expect: lots of mental lusting, an isolated situation, a bit of "getting to know you" banter, and the good old horizontal tango.

Historical Romance released from Brava 1 Jan 08
Explosive was not very explosive. This is a story of the history of nitroglycerin/dynamite and Beethoven’s music. Gray Dalton works for the government and Devon Caravelle is the alleged mistress of a French aristocrat. These two must work together to unlock the code buried in Beethoven’s "Eroica".

Historical erotic romance eBook published by Samhain 29 Apr 08
My fellow duckie, Sandy M., has raved about Beth Kery, so when her latest came up for review, I used my mad ninja powers of sneakiness to request it before she could. The premise looked interesting in a this-could-only-happen-in-erotic-romance kind of way, and even though it's short, I figured it would be a nice change. Unfortunately, I can't review this book without spoiling a couple of things, so if you really want to read this book and don't want to be spoiled, go read something else.
