Review: She Blinded Me With Science Fiction by Kally Jo Surbeck

Laura J's review of She Blinded Me With Science Fiction (Vegas Ventures, Book 1) by Kally Jo Surbeck
Contemporary Romantic Comedy released by Samhain Publishing 4 Apr 08
I love romantic comedies. It's what I want to read. So I decided to read this one thinking, based on the blurb, that it would be pretty funny. I've heard about Trekkie Conventions and know that these people take their roll playing seriously and after reading this book I thought Ms. Surbeck's research for this book must have been interesting.

Wendy the Super Librarian's review of Twisted by Andrea Kane
Romantic suspense released by William Morrow 25 Mar 08
While most romance readers spent their teen years cutting their teeth on Kathleen Woodiwiss, Julie Garwood and Jude Deveraux, I was reading suspense novels written by Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton and Mary Higgins Clark. Long-time romance readers can spot a contrived Big Misunderstanding plot ten miles off the way I can spot poorly executed suspense threads. Which is ultimately the biggest problem with Andrea Kane's latest hard cover, Twisted.

Gwen's review of One Knight Only (Bladesmen, Book 2) by Julia Latham
Historical romance released by Avon 27 Nov 07
There were a few things I liked about this book, but more I didn't like or simply felt ambivalent about. Not a promising way to start a review, I realize, but bear with me while I explain what struck me - perhaps they'll be things you like about a book. Me? Not so much.
Gak. I wrote the review and realized there was more I didn't like about this story than I liked. So read on if you dare.
Besides. I figure if I didn't get some reviews in soon, Sybil was going to take away my Duckie Club card.

Lisa Valdez keeps her word and posts….
April 30, 2008
I will give Lisa Valdez kudos for saying she would update on 4/30 and, hey!, she updated!
And asks for more time and Patience. And one day she will even tell you all about why the book took so long. She also lost all her email contacts (I am thinking it might have had something to do with never answering them and the mailbox overflowing and making everything bounce.... but I am just guessing...). But join her Yahoo group so you can learn all the not!news news first!
Read the full 'update' behind the more tag (you know how her site likes to go down and lose things)...

Historical Paranormal Romance published by Leisure on 1 Apr 08
This is only my second book by Jennifer Ashley and I am fast becoming a fan. So far her heroes are leaders, larger than life, and wonderfully sexy, and her heroines are independent and witty. The romance between them is fiery and loving. Paranormal elements are thrown in to make reading so much more fun.

Contemporary Romance Audiobook published by HarperAudio on 6 Feb 07
I'm glad I listened to the audio of this book instead of sitting down and reading it. The characters are simply wonderful, so full of depth, and hearing them coming to life was so much better than anything I could have come up with in my head. The humor and the emotion of those characters deserved to be spoken, to be appreciated. In putting this review together, I found out the woman who narrated the book, Anna Fields (her real name was Kate Fleming) has passed away since her perfectly read narration. What a loss for those of us who enjoy audiobooks. She was one of the best.
