Book Cover Veena’s review of Sun God Seeks…Surrogate? (Accidentally Yours, Book 3) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Fantasy Romance published by Forever 05 Mar 13

It was the title of this book that first snared me and then it was the fact Ms. Pamfiloff is another new author to add to may arsenal of new and different. This is an ongoing series featuring Gods and vampires and all manner of paranormal creatures, both known and unknown. The story properly ends on a cliff hanger and leaves the reader ready for the next chapter in the series, but…

Penelope wants the best for her mom, who seems to be fading before her eyes, and is snared by an offer to hard to resist. She needs to meet this drool-worthy gentleman to audition for the role of surrogate mother to his child. Hmmmm. Interesting, right?

As Alice would say, it gets curiouser and curiouser. Mom doesn’t make it to the sanitarium where she’s supposed to go to recover, and Knich, the sun god who needs the surrogate, does not want to procreate, let alone need a human surrogate. Then there are the vampires and other manner of creatures and the brother Gods and Goddesses and the war between the evil vampires and fallen gods.

Some of the characters in the story are quite interesting, but somehow the book is just not my cup of tea. I’m not sure if it’s because I find Penelope’s reactions for most of the book a bit irritating, though she does redeem herself toward the end.

Grade: C

Summary:

A Deal from Heaven

Living in New York City, Penelope Trudeau has seen a lot of weird stuff-but nothing like the insane redhead who accosts her with a wild proposition. Penelope will get a million dollars if she has a baby with the strange woman’s brother. With her mother dying from a mysterious disease, Penelope can use the money. Yet the terrified waitress is adamant that her womb and eggs are not for sale . . . until she meets her intended mate. He’s impressively built, gorgeous, and red-hot, literally. He’s a freaking immortal Sun God.

For thousands of years, Kinich (Nick to his friends) didn’t believe in fraternizing with humans, so procreating with them is definitely a no-no. But after one sizzling encounter with the beautiful, passionate Penelope, Nick begins to think he was wrong . . . until he realizes meeting Penelope was just another one of his crazy sister’s schemes at manipulation. But now that he has Penelope in his life, he can’t let her go. Especially because doing so means throwing her into the hands of his dangerous enemies.
