GUEST BLOG: Victorian Christmases by Lynn Viehl
You are never more Victorian than when you celebrate Christmas, and this is because a great many of today’s holiday traditions began or were popularized during the Victorian era.
REVIEW: Everlasting Enchantment by Kathryne Kennedy
Veena’s review of Everlasting Enchantment (Relics of Merlin, Book 4)by Kathryne Kennedy
Fantasy Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 03 Dec 13
This book is set in a fantastical Victorian era where the country is peopled with shapeshifters and mages. Millicent Pantere is a black panther who has spent her entire life underground. She is coerced into playing the role of a noble lady and joining the Queen’s court in search of a magical relic that enhances the use of magic. Little does she know that she’ll locate the relic and an unforgettable man who was a captive of that relic and who will capture her heart. While there are some wonderful cameos scattered through the book, the story fails to hold me in thrall as I had expected it would.
REVIEW: A SEAL Wolf Christmas by Terry Spear
Sandy M’s review of A SEAL Wolf Christmas (Heart of the Wolf, Book 12) by Terry Spear
Paranormal Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 24 Sep 13
I’m always surprised at how authors can keep coming up with fresh plot ideas and characters after numerous books in a series. This is Book 12 in Terry Spear’s werewolf series, and I’m still having as much fun with them as I did when I first began reading about them.
REVIEW: Take Over at Midnight by M.L. Buchman
Veena’s review of Take Over at Midnight (Night Stalkers, Book 7)by M.L. Buchman
Military Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 03 Dec 2013
The Night stalkers are a close-knit crew, so they all get to play important roles as secondary characters in this story. Its a bonus to catch up with all of them, but the star attraction is newcomer Lola La Rue, who is joining the team as co-pilot to Emily Beale. From the get-go, as she’s picked up and greeted by a welcoming smile and and battle humor from the gunner Tim Maloney and plunged right into action on her way from the pick-up point, you know this is going to be a book with the right mix of adrenaline and softer emotions that keeps you coming back to this author and this series. read more…
SPOTLIGHT & GIVEAWAY: Lauren Jameson
NAL is thrilled to present Lauren Jameson’s exciting erotic romance Breathe. Breathe is Lauren’s newest BDSM romance following last year’s Blush.
In Breathe, business mogul Elijah Masterson travels to Mexico for his chain of resorts and purchases a glass sculpture for one of the properties. But the artist who created it is far more intriguing. The attraction between them is instantaneous and explosive, but Elijah resists, unsure that a woman as strong willed as Samantha would ever yield in the way he really needs her to.

REVIEW: Million Dollar Christmas Proposal by Lucy Monroe
LynneC’s review of Million Dollar Christmas Proposal by Lucy Monroe
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 1 Nov 13
One of my favorite guilty pleasures is the boss/secretary romance. Or rather, the boss/employee romance, since Presents has come to terms with there not being any secretaries anymore, although there are still PAs. In this book the heroine works in the call center of the hero’s multi-zillion-dollar company. And so it goes. There are children, one baby and one four-year-old who need a mother. So the hero, who goes by the name of Enzu, decides to buy them one. Strike one for sanity. Except, there are rumors that some wealthy men do just that, but for far crazier reasons than providing a mother for their feckless dead brother’s babies.

Tycoon Enzo Tomasi wants to give his recently orphaned niece and nephew a mother for Christmas. In typical business like fashion he calls in his discreet personal assistant and assigns her the task of finding a suitable candidate. I find this story a refreshing twist on a typical holiday miracle where scrooge finds his heart and the children revel in their Christmas miracle.

GUEST BLOG & EXCERPT: When does a Mistress become a submissive? by Joey W. Hill
“How do you get your ideas?” It’s the question most often asked by readers, and one I’m never sure how to intelligently answer (grin), because a story comes to me in flashes or snippets. A bit of overheard dialogue, the way someone turns their head, even a scent, can unlock a scene idea or a character possibility, and then my story usually builds around that. Unrestrained is unique in that it was spawned by a lively debate at a conference. I was with a group of authors and readers venting about the BDSM romances where the heroine starts out as a Mistress, but the moment the “right” Master walks in, she throws all that aside to become his devoted submissive.

Erotic Romance published by Berkley 03 Dec 13
In a market place overflowing with dominant and submissive themes, this book proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ms. Hill is a “Mistress” of her craft. The scorching off-the-charts sexual chemistry between the protagonists is balanced perfectly with the emotional connection that sucks the reader into the story and makes them a part of the journey. read more…
