Veena’s review of Dangerous Lover (Dangerous Trilogy, Book 1) by Lisa Marie Rice
Romantic Suspense published by Elizabeth Jennings 11 Dec 24

Ms. Rice is one of my favorite authors, but, unfortunately, I can’t say the same for this book. While Jack and Caroline are great characters, I just could not get into them or into their romance.

Jack has had a hard life, raised in an orphanage where he imprinted on Caroline.  She has become his lodestar and maybe even a reason for living.  Free of all obligations, he makes his way back to the town where he had met her, only to find things have changed since the last time he saw her. No longer the pampered rich girl, she has lost her family and is barely making ends meet. Jack becomes her boarder, taking on the rooms she has to let.

On this cold and snowy night so reminiscent of the night and the accident that changed her life forever, Caroline invites a stranger into her bed in a bid to forget her troubles.  For Jack it’s like a dream come true, but then a past he didn’t expect comes to bite him.

Can Jack and Caroline survive in more ways than one and live to enjoy a long happily-ever-after life?

Grade: C
