Veena’s review of Leopard’s Scar (Leopard, Book 14) by Christine Feehan
Paranormal Romance published by Berkley 29 Nov 22
Their first meeting was over blood and guts. Even though Meiling was brought up to fear leopard shifters, she is unable to leave a grievously hurt Gedeon to die. So she carries him away from danger and nurses him back to health. But that’s as far as she’s willing to go, unless Gedeon can convince her otherwise.
In Gedeon’s custom home deep in the swamps of Louisiana, they forge an incredible partnership of equals. Gedeon is a fixer and Meling becomes his partner. But, even though sexual hunger drives them both, they resist each other, knowing once they cross those boundaries, things will change, as they inevitably do.
Both Gedeon and Meiling were forged in an incredible crucible that has shaped them and they are both hunting for revenge against their common enemy. As things lead them to the ultimate romance, will their personal relationship survive the aftermath?
Having read all the books in the series and the domination of the Leopard emergence in these stories, I really like how Ms. Feehan has written this story, making it different and yet incorporating the characteristics of the emergence. A lot of characters that we have met before in the series make appearances here, so it’s nice to catch up with what’s been happening in their lives.
It does amuse in some ways that all these characters are criminals but in a good kind of way. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and hope to continue to see more in this series.

Summary:
The moment Meiling sees Gedeon she knows he’s a leopard shifter—just as she knows she can’t trust him. Meiling doesn’t take chances, life has taught her better than that. So why does she find herself rescuing this deadly, gorgeous man, when she knows she’d be better off leaving him to die?
Gedeon is used to women throwing themselves at him, not throwing his injured body over their beautiful, deceptively strong shoulders and carrying him to safety. He might be embarrassed, if he wasn’t so aroused by the very thought of this feisty lotus blossom.
As they strike up a working relationship that suits them both, Gedeon starts to rely on Meiling for just about everything. But when her hidden nature rises to the surface, the connection that links them shifts into an all-consuming desire. And neither will escape unmarked. . . .
