REVIEW: Fallen by Erin McCarthy

Limecello's review of Fallen (7 Deadly Sins, Book 2) by Erin McCarthy
Paranormal Romance released by Berkley Jove 29 Apr 08
Erin McCarthy is one of my favorite romance authors. My expectations may have been too high, because Book 2 of the Seven Deadly Sins series unfortunately disappointed. I felt that the story didn’t truly begin until chapter 9. The story moved too slowly for me, and I felt that the action didn't begin until the nearly the end, and it became rushed. I also would have liked a bit more romance. Read more

Paranormal Romance released by Berkley Sensation on 1 Jul 08
(Isn't that cover eye catching?) I first discovered Virginia Kantra when I read the anthology Shifter, and was very intrigued by her novella Sea Crossing and the idea of selkies. Ms Kantra puts an entirely new spin on selkies that I've never seen before. An interesting one, that I've enjoyed reading.

Limecello's review of Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, Book 5) by Kresley Cole
Contemporary Paranormal Romance released by Pocket on 20 May 08
I was excited about the newest installment in the Immortals After Dark (IAD) series, and after I've read it, I know it was for good reason. Dark Desires gives us our first demon hero, and he's definitely able to hold his own. This was a fun new story that is a great continuation of the series.

Sandy M's review of Master of the Highlands by Veronica Wolff
Paranormal Historical Romance published by Berkley 5 Feb 2008
As a time travel fan, I did like this book, but I'm also a little disappointed in it. Therefore, I'm unsure what grade to give it. Maybe those of you who have also read it will help me out.

Contemporary Paranormal Romance anthology released by Berkley 4 Mar 08
While many romance readers will trace their love for romance books back to sneaking their grandmother's old Harlequin books or the late Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, but for me my first romance book that I read was MaryJanice Davidson's Undead and Unwed and from there I was hooked.

May 20, 2008
I met Jessica Andersen in Dallas last year. I think I made an ass of myself standing line staring at her before I finally had to say I am sorry I KNOW I know you.
I am shy... I am working on it. We were chatting later at the Berkley party, when I found out they were her new publisher. I was delighted, being the Penguin whore that I am... and she said that word... paranormal. So I figured I was going to have to pretend to be interested to be nice.

Contemporary erotic romance released by Berkley Trade 2 Jan 08
This is a tale about how a boy finds a girl. It's set in modern day. However, it struck me as I was reading it that the story could have been set in any time - the characters and the plot were that universal. There are no paranormal distractions, no deeper mysteries to solve other than how were the hero and heroine going to make things work. A universal tale, really. Well...

Are you as addicted to Jean Johnson's Sons of Destiny series as I am? We’re halfway through this series of 8 books about 8 Warrior/Mage brothers (4 sets of twins) in an alternate universe similar to our medieval times except magic is the norm. Finn's review of Hard to Handle (SBC Fighters, Book 3) by Lori Foster
Contemporary romance released by Berkley 5 Feb 08
This was a great story.
It is about Harley, a mixed martial arts fighter, and Stasia a life coach. Harley has twice been up for the 'big fight' but something seems to always get in the way. So he’s out in the woods renting a cabin from Stasia, recovering from an injury that made him miss his last title fight. At first he is not interested in her; he just wants to get back in shape so he can win his belt.
