This series offers readers romance with an erotic touch, suspense, and a lot of laughter at the antics of the McKay-Taggart Security team, particularly Big Tag. Michael Malone has been feeling a bit blue lately, wondering if he’s missed the boat on love and romance, especially since couples and kids seem to be sprouting up all around him. He’s grateful to get away from it all on a new assignment.
Vanessa Hale is definitely no darling of the press. In fact the public and press seem to hate her, particularly given the expose from her once-confidante and ex-friend. Now she’s the subject of a sordid lawsuit being waged by her older-than-her stepson to prevent her inheriting money that her richer-than-Midas, old-enough-to-be-her-grandfather husband left her. Unfortunately for her, while her relationship with Dani seems to be flourishing, Dani’s husband, Julian Lodge, is uncomfortable enough to have her investigated.
Vanessa expressed an interest in BDSM to pursue clues regarding her sister’s death at The Club. Michael Malone is the trainer/investigator assigned to look into her activities. From the get-go they hit it off, though Michael isn’t entirely sure Vanessa isn’t acting. As Michael begins to finally see and fall in love with the vulnerable woman beneath the public face, he fears about their future once all is revealed. Secrets and surprises there are plenty with curveballs that you never see coming.
Ms. Blake spins quite the tale that keeps her readers turning pages to discover what comes next and leaves us all at the edge of a couple of different cliffs. One of them is the start of what appears to be the next chapter in this story and the other which seems to be a much longer game.

While she hunts for a killer during the day, she hopes to find some solace at night in The Club. Meeting the gorgeous, sexy and seemingly kind Michael Malone, their chemistry sparks in a way she’s never felt before, and Vanessa thinks maybe her luck has finally changed.
A love that might save them both
When Michael’s true motives are revealed, she will have to find a way to forgive his betrayal. The killer has made Vanessa their next target. Working together and stopping this monster is the only chance for them to have the real love they both deserve.
