This story starts off with a bang. A newspaper expose by her best friend leaves Madison reeling, especially since it’s all a lie designed to grab media attention for her so-called best friend. Poor Maddie, the rest of the day isn’t going much better when she knuckles down to ask for her father’s help, only to find that he’s got his own plan in action to control his daughter. Perhaps her father’s right-hand man will take her side? But then Vik isn’t exactly altruistic, since she’s his vehicle to taking over her father’s company. Poor little rich girl or is she really a very lucky girl?
Viktor doesn’t recognize or subscribe to soft emotions, because he really hasn’t experienced them himself. But I love how he takes Madison to Golden Gate Park and makes his solemn promises to her and also when he takes her back to renew and add to his promises. Such a truly romantic gesture for a “business man.”
Madison is a strong woman. She stands up to her father and definitely holds her own when she hits him where it hurts. She actually does it a few times. Woohoo, way to go, girl! The chemistry between Madison and Vik is explosive and the sex hot, but the love and romance come slow and sure. I enjoyed reading about all the traditional Russian marriage customs.
This one is definitely worth reading and I look forward to Madison’s best friend Romi making a go with her very own Russian.
