I got this book from a very generous friend, and it has increased my enjoyment of Harlequin books. Don't let the title deceive you. (Well, if you're someone who scoffs at the Presents titles. I admit, halfway through reading I stopped to check the title and started snickering - in a good-natured way.) This line has some terrific stories, and shouldn't be discounted. I've now discovered yet another Presents author to follow. Read more
REVIEW: The Billionaire Boss’s Secretary Bride by Helen Brooks

Shannon C.'s review of The Billionaire Boss's Secretary Bride by Helen Brooks
Contemporary romance released by Harlequin Presents 1 Jul 08
I have to admit, until recently, I'd never read a Harlequin Presents. I also admit to being turned off by the cheesy titles and the descriptions that made me sit and think, 'Oh, there we go again. Yet another alpha jerk incapable of listening to the heroine for five seconds.' But both Holly and Jane lurve them some Presents, so I thought I'd try a Helen Brooks book, since at least one of them said she was good. Read more

Review: Under the Italian’s Command by Susan Stephens

Devon's review of Under the Italian's Command by Susan Stephens
Contemporary Romance released by Harlequin Presents 1 Jul 08
One definitely has certain expectations when reading a Harlequin Presents. Larger than life, super wealthy, super gorgeous, super domineering hero, overwhelming a less wealthy, less powerful, less gorgeous heroine with his desires. At their best, they can be fabulously escapist Cinderella fantasy, at worst obnoxious drivel. The blurb for Under the Italian's Command seems par for the course for this line, but it left quite a bit out. This book was surprising, sometimes in delightful ways, sometimes in jaw-dropping ones. A mixed bag indeed. Read more

It's no secret that I love Harlequin Presents, and Lucy Monroe is definitely my favorite Presents author. Her stories are usually well rounded and emotionally fulfilling. Although this is definitely a good story, I don't feel it was quite up to par with what I've come to expect from her in the past. Read more

I generally enjoy the Presents line, though I don't remember reading Kate Hardy before. Unfortunately, this book features one of my least favorite plot devices - the BIG MISUNDERSTANDING - which resulted in the hero and heroine acting like children for most of the novel. I'll be looking for more titles by her in the future, but I'm going to make sure they're written around a different plot device.

Another title that gives it to you in 5 seconds or less. We don't want that from our heroes but it apparently works in a title ;). Forbidden: the Billionaire's Virgin Princess by Lucy Monroe, a new Harlequin Presents that comes out this July. Here's a sneak peek...
Review: Housekeeper to the Millionaire by Lucy Monroe

Holly's review of Housekeeper To The Millionaire
by Lucy Monroe
Contemporary Romance released by Harlequin Presents 1 Apr 08
I started reading Lucy Monroe several years ago. If I'm not mistaken, it was towards the beginning of her career. Although I love pretty much everything she's written, I feel she really excels at writing for the Presents line. Her stories are the perfect blend of sweet and intense, if somewhat predictable.
