Veena’s review of The Sheikh’s Secret Babies (Bound By Gold, Book 2) by Lynne Graham
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 21 Apr 15
This is a cute, fun read. Prince Jaul of Marwan is ready to put his past behind him and become a King his people can be proud of . He’s ready to marry a suitable queen and provide the necessary heirs for the throne. Poised on the brink of carrying out his plan, he finds out that he has unfinished business from his past that needs to be put to bed before he can proceed. Should have been an easy fix, except for the complications that come into play.
No worries! He can think on the fly, so he’s ready to scratch the original plan and adapt. His ex-wife, who turns out not to be an ex, can become his queen, even if she is English and he’s got ready-made heirs in the form of his twin children he knew nothing about. Except Chrissie is not really amenable to his plans.
It also turns out that they each believe a different version of the truth of why their marriage ended, and it’s certainly true that Chrissie gave birth to their children alone and without his support. When he can’t get Chrissie to bend the straightforward way, he resorts to blackmail and soon has his family in his desert kingdom where he rules absolute.
I enjoy the twists and turns between the whys and wherefores as they discover the truth behind their original parting and seek to build a new life. I like an inventive man and I definitely enjoy the grand seduction scene that Jaul sets up in the harem in order to show his wife how much he loves her.
We also get to catch up with Chrissie’s sister and brother-in-law. I haven’t personally read the story, but it sounds intriguing enough for me to pick up and read after what happened there.
Grade: B
