Veena’s review of Darkness Eternal (Guardians of Eternity, Book 7.6) by Alexander Ivy
Paranormal Romance published by Zebra 01 Apr 15
This is a cameo featuring lesser known characters in the Guardian of Eternity series, bringing new depth and breadth to the overall story line. I personally like these short cameos that allow authors to tell us additional stories that are popping up in their heads which don’t lend themselves to being included as chapters in an existing story.
Kata is Layla’s mother and we sort of know her background from Kane and Layla’s story, but I will be honest and say that I can’t recall what I knew before. But don’t fear, this book is self-contained and all that you need to know you can find between these pages, including how Layla came to be born.
Uriel is second in command to the London Vampire chief. I don’t recall him as a character in earlier stories, but, again, that doesn’t really matter. I actually quite like his character fears and all, especially when he realizes that Kata is his bonded mate.
This is definitely an action story, and I enjoyed Yanna’s interference as well as the depiction of hell where Kata and Uriel find themselves. Kata definitely does not like Vampires, considering that she’s been imprisoned by one for centuries, but as they plunge from one adventure to another and Uriel successfully rescues her; her feelings definitely change.
This is a nice addition and I definitely enjoyed reading it.
