Veena’s review of To Sin With A Tycoon (Seven Sexy Sins, Book 2) by Cathy Williams
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 01 Jan 15

We’re introduced to a rich, sexy, arrogant billionaire, who has a new and sexy model on his arm every night and a new personal assistant every morning, until Alice Morgan shows up one morning as a temp to hire candidate for personal assistant. She’s definitely not falling for him at the expense of doing her job, but, oddly enough, the change makes Gabriel Cabrera wishing she would. Suddenly his well-orchestrated life is in disorder and his evenings of sex and debauchery are threatened. Sound familiar?  Yes, this is very definitely very typical Harlequin fare, but it is well written and well told.

Alice definitely does not fit into the typical mold of executive assistant that Gabriel normally hires. She actually has the temerity to stand up for herself and set terms from the get-go. Even more importantly, she puts in a full day’s work and actually pulls her weight, enough to impress Gabriel.   Even more importantly, she seems to be immune to Gabriel’s looks and charm – until they travel to Paris together.

It’s a case of what happens in Paris stays in Paris, and so they both give in to the obsession and chemistry that’s been simmering under the surface and definitely exercise their sexual urges together. It irks Gabriel that Alice can put it all behind her and plan to go back to normal, while for the first time he’s hoist with his own petard.  He isn’t a millionaire who’s gotten this far without making his attempt to exorcise her before he comes to heel and acknowledges his FEELINGS.

It’s this type of light-hearted romance with a foregone conclusion that I read Harlequin romances for and it definitely does not disappoint.  Normally I’m pretty oblivious to any inconsistencies so long as the story runs its typical course and yields the requisite escape, which I’m happy to report this one does.

Grade:  B

Summary:

With the quirk of an eyebrow, Gabriel Cabrera can get anything he wants!

That is, until he meets PA Alice Morgan and he realizes three things:

1) He’s jealous…a first.

2) He’s in pursuit…also a first.

3) She’s immune to his charms…definitely a first!

So he’ll draw her to him—his every word an innuendo promising pleasure, his every touch sinfully seductive. And sweet, virginal Alice will come to him willingly so Gabriel can claim his prize…
