Shake, Rattle and Roll

duckpower-sybil.jpgIf you blinked you prolly missed it but I had a seizure last Thursday and have been under House Arrest. I had been feeling some what crappy anyway so that is why we are ohhhh

Really fucking behind around here

I know I suck sorry, I would blame Gwen but she refuses to take responsibility for my actions.

Hopefully all the tests come back soon and I am not dying or anything. Until then I will try and get the contests all caught up and winners announced and guest posts so you can be amused.

So what you been up too? Read any good books lately? Oh and if you are wondering, I do not suggest ever having a seizure. It isn't any fun and for a control freak like myself it REALLY really sucks ass.

    Reading right now:

"Hotter Than Hell" by Jackie Kessler - don't know how I feel about this book yet.

"Dark Desires After Dusk" by Kresley Cole - squeeeee!

"Iron Hunt" by Marjorie Liu - having a tough time getting into this one.

"Desperate Duchesses" by Eloisa James - this is Sandy's fault.

I want to read some more sci-fi. I can feel a jones coming on for it.

could be cuz you have tons being mailed to you...

I read Promises Revealed by Sarah McCarty err I think that is the title...

  3. Liviania on July 25th, 2008 11:44 am

I've been reading good things, but mainly YA. But I'm about to start on called "Soon I Will Be Invincible" that looks really good.

Hopefully it's nothing - at least it was only one seizure! (My sister's epileptic.)

I've lost my reading mojo and can't find it! The plan today is to devote some more time to Life Lines by C.J. Lyons. It's well-written, and a good book so far. I just can't seem to get motivated to ready ANYTHING. Bah!

I hope you're feeling better Syb. Sucks, sucks, sucks to not feel well and then to not know exactly what is wrong with you....

I hope you're feeling better soon, too, Sybil. Take care of yourself!

Oh crap. A seizure? That's scary. I'm hope you feel better soon.

    Let's see. . .
I picked up S.L. Viehl's latest Stardoc, Omega Games (yay!!!)
Also, Rachel Caine's newest Weather Warden book, Gale Force.

    I love those series.

Hi Sybil, hope they find out what caused it, and that you feel better once they do. Good wishes from me..

What have I been up to.. well, got my wedding license today, so that was good. Now.. procrastinating about work.

  8. Holly on July 25th, 2008 1:40 pm

I'm reading a Karen Templeton right now..so far so good. I'll keep you posted.

Also, trying to finish Reckless by Saskia Walker. It's not a bad book, but it's not holding my attention.

Crappy about the seizures. I'm so a control freak with you. Ugh. Much happy thoughts for you.

Well, shit and crap--Sybil, here's wishing it never happens again, and that they find what caused it this one time.

Feel better, lil duckie, we are all sending you positive, healthy thoughts!

Sybil~I hope the tests come back soon and give you answers.

And, really, no worries on getting caught up around here~take care of yourself!!

  11. Marg on July 25th, 2008 5:14 pm

I'm reading but to be honest it's nothing interesting. To be honest I think I need a series intervention.

Hope you find out what is wrong and that you are feeling better soon Syb!

  12. Pam P on July 25th, 2008 7:31 pm

That is scary, Sybil, hope it all turns out well and a one-time thing.

I'm hoping to start Iron Hunt by Marjorie Liu once I get some urgent projects done. Gwen, Kresley's Dark Desires was so good, my favorite of the series now.

Oh Sybil, I am adding my well wishes for you.

As for books, am currently enjoying The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen.

  14. Ing on July 25th, 2008 8:07 pm

Goodness I'm glad your back! Hope this was just a one time thing. Sending healing vibes!

    I just read Into the Fire by Suzanne Brockmann. I have to tell you after reading this book I can't concentrate on any other ones. She really threw some stuff in this one that has be preoccupied with it days after {{SIGH}}

Take good care of yourself, Sybil! I'll be sending you positive thoughts. I recently read an incredible urban fantasy 'Beautiful Death' by Joely Sue Burkhart. Hope you'll have the chance to check it out too.

  16. Sandy M on July 26th, 2008 12:22 am

Keeping good thoughts coming your way, Sybil.

I'm reading Loretta Chase's Your Scandalous Ways right now, just started Susan Anton's Magic in His Kiss and Cindy Miles' Highland Knight. Two are okay and one I got interrupted in the first few pages, so need to start again!

Gwen! What's my fault?? Or is it another Sandy you're blaming?

  17. EC Sheedy on July 26th, 2008 1:15 am

Sybil, I'm sorry to hear you're not well. I've never had anything close to a seizure, but the very word is scary! You take care of yourself, hear???

I'm reading a Gayle Wilson book, BOOGEYMAN, and I'm making sure the lights are on when I do. Good stuff!

  18. Michelle Styles on July 26th, 2008 1:50 am

    Oh no Sybil!!!!
But there are lots of things they can do. And fingers crssed that they discover what is wrong fast.

  19. Danny on July 26th, 2008 2:46 am

Sybil, take care of yourself. That sounds really scary.

    Good books,

yeah I read quite a few.

    Jaci Burton's Riding Temptation
Shayla Black's Tempt me with Darkness
    Kathryn Smith, Before I wake

I can highly recommend all three of them.

  20. Sybil on July 26th, 2008 10:08 am

Thanks everyone I am sure it is fine and all that. Or it isn't and we will find out. Who knows. ::shrug::

I am trying to figure out how to use it to get books... cuz I am not above that sort of thing you know ;)

  22. Maureen on July 26th, 2008 11:19 am

I hope you are feeling better real soon. Right now I am reading After the Kiss by Suzanne Enoch.

  23. Jody W. on July 27th, 2008 10:28 am

Feel better soon, Sybil! I just read Jenna Starborn by Sharon Shinn and it was interesting, if not my favorite Shinn novel ever. I also read The Paid Companion by Amanda Quick, which was enjoyable, and just started High Stakes (one of the Vegas Vampire books) by Erin McCarthy. I don't normally read so many books so quickly, but I had a mini vacation last week.
