Are you one of those readers who has a huge, gigantic, monstrous TRB pile? You never know which book to start next because the number of books is overwhelming? Or you start looking for a particular book and when only halfway through the pile you come across that book you were looking for last month and promptly forget about the one you were just searching for? Your TBR isn’t that out of control? Well, mine is.
Yes, that truly is my TBR pile you see down there. Only a part of my TRB pile. You should see my garage. And my house. I’ll even bet a couple of the other Duckies around the Pond are in the same boat. So I started thinkin’.
What would be a good way to add some of my older books to be read in with all the new ones I review here at the Pond? I’m a series lover. I so enjoy the same characters from book to book. And it just so happens I have a number of series that need to be read; they’ve waited for their turn quite long enough.
My new idea is a review of a series of books, books that are connected in some way. Thus, we have come up with a new feature, Duckies Do Series! This will be an intermittent feature, mostly because it takes a little bit of time to read four or more books in any given series, even a trilogy for that matter.
So in the future whenever you see our new heading Duckies Do Series, accompanied with the icon above, you know you’ll be in for a treat!
Keep an eye out. This Duckie will have a treat for you sooner than you think!
I’m new to your website, but I love it so far! I found your site when Doc. Jess interviewed JR Ward (whose books are my absolute favorites).
I really enjoy series books too, so I think your series review idea is stupendous!
Have a great day!
Holy shit, Sandy! Are you freakin’ kidding me??!! That’s your TBR??
Oh my gawd. I might need my smelling salts, where’s my smelling salts…
Oh. My. Gosh. And I thought my TBR pile was big. Nope, I won’t be complaining anymore. LOL
I love this idea! I’m a huge fan of series books, so I look forward to reading the Duckies Do Series reviews!
Holy smokes! That is one serious TBR pile. Although I believe it is too big to be called a pile. More like a TBR mountain.
I’m a series junkie, too, Sandy. I think the Duckies Do Series reviews is a fantastic idea!
Sandy,
I am so glad that I am not the only one with a tbr mountain range instead of a pile. LOL.
Plus I am also a series junkie
… You know, you just made me feel a lot better about my own TBR pile. Every time I feel I’ll never get through them all, or think I really shouldn’t buy more books when I have so many I haven’t read yet I’ll remember it could be worse :-D. I’m printing this pic to show my mom the next time she tells me I have way too many books.
At the same time, it makes me itch to go to the used book store buy new stuff, which is so not a good idea since all I have to stock my books is my bedroom. Lol. I love series too, so I’m looking forward to the Duckies do Series feature!
OMGosh! Sandy, your TBR pile scares the ever lovin’ shit out of me. No, seriously, it scares me. I’ll never look at mine the same way again.
I think the series idea is a good one, but dude, that TBR pile….
First, Georganna, welcome to the Pond!
No joke, Gwen! All of those books used to be in bookshelves I had built around the entire perimeter of my garage before I moved out of my house. Now I don’t have the room for them all in the condo, and I refuse to get rid of my books!
LOL, would you all believe me if I said in that TBR mountain (you’re right on that score, Christine!) on the far end there were a few boxes against the wall that the books were stacked around? But, of course, makes no difference because it’s still a mountain, I agree! And the books I have in the garage and the house would make up for that. Yes, I am out of control, but I can’t stop. Ask Sybil. But I sure do have fun with it all! And, Danny, I’m so happy I’m not the only one out of control with a mountain to deal with!
Mary, please let me know what your mother says when you show her the pic! Hopefully she won’t bug you anymore about your pile!
No, Holly, don’t be scared! LOL, all my books are very reader friendly. Even if they’re stuck in a huge old pile!
I’m glad ya’ll like the idea of Duckies Do Series. I have one I’m polishing right now, so you should be seeing it sometime soon!
And thanks for giving me a good chuckle today. I love all your comments.
That TBR pile is frightening. :-O
Looks like a book warehouse.
I have heard about your TBR pile before at HRC, but it still looks kind of confronting to see a picture of it!
How do you find anything in there?
I look forward to seeing which series you come up with!
Sandy, you and my late grandfather would have gotten along great. He had so many books and magazines that he built a 3 story tower in the back yard behind his house to hold them all.
Sandy,
What scares me is that those are the books you haven’t read yet! If that was your collection, that would be wonderful, but I can’t imagine having that many UNread books! SCARY!
In that mountain, Marg, I didn’t find anything! That was the result of moving out of my house and running out of time. I didn’t have the chance to put them in any kind of order. They still aren’t after just moving them to a new storage unit closer to me, but at least since they’re closer I can now go over and work on organizing them somehow now. Soon, I’m hoping!
Oh, LauraD, what I’d give to have a three-story tower to get my books even closer to me! I sure do miss those bookshelves I had in my previous garage. That was absolute heaven! I would have loved to have met your grandpa. Sounds like he was a very interesting person!
I know, Holly. The joke around here is I’m going to live to be at least 200 to get them all read! But I’ve now got some books on audio, so when I reorganize them, those books will go, and I’m sure there are others that won’t hold my interest after all this time. LOL, we should have a contest guessing how many books I’ll actually be able to cull out when it’s all said and done!
A guess how many books in the pile competition!

I need to share that picture with everyone who has ever said anything negative about my oh so humble! TBR mountain. Because, clearly, there’s no comparison with yours!
OMG Sandy! Boggles the mind to know you haven’t read all those books! 0_0
I’m with Mary M…I feel so much better about my TBR! I’ll even stop calling it Mount TBR – obviously it is only a foothill. 😉
I had to come back and look at that photo again. I’m in awe, really. :O
I used to joke my TBR pile could be seen from the moon, but now I don’t think I can even call mine a foothill. Anthill is more like it. 😉
LOL, Sandy, people think we’re joking when we say we have TBR mountains. I’m still trying to figure where to put all mine ever since I downsized from a 2BR to 1BR condo – that spare BR used to be my bookroom. And it’s even worse, people, she has ebooks like I do, not show in that picture, lol.
Duckies Do Series is a great idea.
Oh wow…words escape me, I don’t know whether to be really jealous or extremely scared. I think I’m a little bit of both. On one hand, I want to break out in song because of all those books but my other hand is trying to pick up my eyeballs that fell out of my face.
Good luck with that! =)
I’m torn between being scared, and jealous. You could freaking start a book store. 🙂
I’m only jealous…
LOL Eva, if I could just have them, hands down, jealous. If I had them but also had to review all of them… it’d come with a healthy dose of fear. Who am I kidding – that fear would be so strong it’d be unhealthy ;).
Wow, lady, you are a goddess of books! I thought I had a lot…nobody can hold a candle to you, my dear! Guess you won’t lack for anything to read….
Holy Mother of God, and all her wacky nephews!! Are you kidding me? I will NEVER look at my lowly TBR pile the same, ever. How are you going to decide where to start?
I am hoping she lets me decide *eg*
