REVIEW: Mistress At What Price? by Anne Oliver
Lynne Connolly’s review of Mistress at What Price? by Anne Oliver
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin 13 Jul 10
I said in a previous review that I wouldn’t be reading Harlequin Presents if I didn’t tolerate the tropes that come up. This book proves that you can use them and still come up with a good, heartfelt read about people with more depth to them than a piece of paper. This is a good one. read more…
REVIEW: Raising Kane by Lorelei James
Sandy M’s review of Raising Kane (Rough Riders, Book 9) by Lorelei James
Contemporary Western Romance ebook published by Samhain 23 Jun 10
I think like a lot of fans of this series, I’ve anxiously awaited Kane’s story. He’s a bad boy for sure, he’s had his moments of excesses, fights, plenty of women, and any number of other things, but he’s the hero who’s also chivalrous, take-charge and in control when needed, loves his family and his dog, and has a soft spot for kids. And he’s sexier than hell. He’s a man any woman would give anything for to rub herself all over, up one side and down the other every day of the week. And then do it all over again. Twice. On Sundays. Just as his heroine discovers.
REVIEW: The Trouble with Heroes edited by Denise Little (22 Authors)
Liviania’s review of The Trouble with Heroes edited by Denise Little (no website found)
Fantasy anthology published by DAW 3 Nov 2009
What do heroes do in their downtime? It’s an interesting premise that’s suppose to serve as the basis of the stories in the fantasy anthology The Trouble with Heroes. Unfortunately, most authors barely touch on the premise. Fortunately, most of the stories are still charming and funny. Plus, the anthology was unexpectedly female positive. read more…
REVIEW: All or Nothing by Dee Tenorio
Sandy M’s review of All or Nothing (The Lonnigans, Book 2) by Dee Tenorio
Contemporary Romance ebook published by Samhain
27 Jul 10
I’ve had a couple of second books of a series outshining the first lately. All or Nothing is in that category for me. And it surprises me, because I wasn’t that thrilled with Lucas in All of You, but Ms. Tenorio turned that around on me and I ended up loving him quite a bit.
REVIEW: Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran
Liviania’s review of Wicked Becomes You by Meredith Duran
Historical romance released by Pocket 27 April 2010
Meredith Duran’s first novel came out around the time I began seriously following romance blogs. Since I’ve heard a number of good things about her writing, I was eager to read her latest release Wicked Becomes You. Alex Ramsey is a second son who went into trade despite his brother’s wishes. Gwen Maudsley, sister of Alex’s dead best friend, has been left at the altar twice and is ready to ignore society’s wishes read more…

REVIEW: The Bachelor’s Bought Bride by Jennifer Lewis
Limecello’s review of The Bachelor’s Bought Bride by Jennifer Lewis
Contemporary Romance released by Silhouette Desire 11 May 10
I enjoyed this book but even more, it’s important to me because I realized I don’t hate all heiress books. (Just the vast majority.) Here, that’s not an issue. While the heroine Bree seems to fit into any number of stereotypes, she’s still a unique character and person, and quite likable. While the ending is ultimately predictable (it is a romance, after all), what happens in between is not at all trite, and I found it quite enjoyable. read more…

REVIEW: Bound by Temptation by Lavinia Kent
Birdie’s review of Bound by Temptation by Lavinia Kent
Historical Romance released by Avon Feb 10
Have you ever put down a book, unfinished, but still recommended it to a friend? Or read a new-to-you author, didn’t finish the book, and picked up another by that author? I have done neither of these things but with Bound by Temptation, I probably would.
REVIEW: The Making of a Duchess by Shana Galen
Sandy M’s review of The Making of a Duchess (Sons of the Revolution, Book 1) by Shana Galen
Historical Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 1 Jun 10
This is my first book by Ms. Galen. I have plenty of her books in the TBR pile, but I just haven’t gotten to them yet. But I’m certainly glad I was able to read this first book in her new series. I enjoyed it from beginning to end, love the characters, and definitely look forward to other books in the series.
