Kaitlyn‘s review of Kingdom of the Wicked Series by Kerri Maniscalco
Young Adult Historical Paranormal Romance published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers 27 Oct 20 – 27 Sep 22

I read this series two years ago and overall thought it was fine. I just finished a reread and I actually like it a lot more this time around. There’re witches, demons, enemies to lovers, and lots of fun Italian food. It’s also really easy to binge.

If you’re looking for a fun fantasy series, this one is entertaining. The series is categorized as YA and the first book is, but Books 2 and 3 are definitely not YA. I’m finishing up the first spin-off book today, just in time for the second book’s release.

If you haven’t read this series yet, B&N just recently released paperbacks with sprayed edges that are really pretty. You should also check out Kerri’s other series, Stalking Jack the Ripper. It’s my favorite from her and is such a fun murder mystery series.

Grade: B

Summary:

Two sisters. One brutal murder. A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself… And an intoxicating romance.

Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe — witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin…desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden. Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems…
