Veena’s review of Most Eligible Cowboy (Devil’s Bluffs, Book 1) by Stacey Kennedy
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Desire 29 Nov 22

Being the Most Eligible Bachelor isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, as Colter Ward soon finds out when he’s targeted by women everywhere he goes. When he can’t even get a beer in peace without being propositioned, he cuts a deal with ace reporter Adeline Harlow – a story in exchange for a fake relationship.

Adeline once lived in Devil’s Bluffs, where she had a relationship with the Ward family.  Disillusioned on the romance front, she’s back in Devil’s Bluffs to write a story about her old buddy Colter Ward and what it’s like to named the most eligible bachelor.

Colter decides to start a romance with her as a beard to keep all the women away and get some peace and quiet in exchange for that exclusive story that she wants. In a small town, the only way to promote a romance is to live it, and soon the fake relationship is becoming more real.

But she’s still trying to forget and forgive and, besides, her life is in New York and Cotter’s is here in Devil’s Bluffs. Can they figure out a way to get what they want and need without compromising everything else?

A short and sweet story that I enjoyed very much.

Grade: B
