Veena’s review of Trusting Molly (Silverstone, Book 3) by Susan Stoker
Contemporary Romance published by Montlake 13 Jul 21

As the Silverstone team prepared for their mission to the Nigerian jungle to rescue kidnapped school girls, something about the lone American who had been swept up in the kidnapping, thanks to being in the wrong place at the wrong time, called out to Smoke.  Then he literally fell into a hole to find and rescue Molly and fell in love. Now he just has to convince Molly that it’s all real and he’s there to help her figure a way out of the trouble that seems to be shadowing her.

Molly has had a tough life and it certainly feels like bad luck has been her shadow. Current events that lead to her kidnapping and imprisonment in a hole in the ground seem to seal the deal, but then it seems her luck is turning when she’s rescued by the handsome ex-special forces soldier and his team and finds a temporary home with him.  Even as she’s trying to get her life back in order, dark clouds are gathering around her.

An obsessed man is determined to win Molly at any cost, including murdering her beloved grandparents. Will Smoke be able to convince her that she means everything to him and the bad luck is all in her imagination? What a great read as we catch up with the Silverstone team and see them finding their happiness. There’s only member left and it looks like his HEA may well be the team’s next mission.

Grade: B

Summary:

When Mark “Smoke” Chamberlin ventures into the Nigerian jungle with his team of government assassins, his mission is clear: get in, kill the target, and make it out alive. With his extensive military experience, Smoke has no problem heading into dangerous territory. When it comes to love, though, he’s always been a little wary. But then he meets the beautiful, intrepid Molly Smith.

Schoolteacher Molly has been trying to outrun a lifetime of bad luck, and now she finds herself kidnapped along with a hundred schoolgirls in the jungle. But when Smoke finds them, Molly thinks her luck might be turning around—until she returns to the US to find her beloved grandparents murdered.

Devastated by their deaths and mystified by the turn of events, Molly turns to Smoke for comfort. But as Molly and Smoke grow closer, a different threat emerges…one that will put their relationship to the test and their lives in grave danger.
