Veena’s review of Beauty Tempts The Beast (Sins for All Seasons, Book 6) by Lorraine Heath
Historical Romance published by Avon 29 Sep 20

This is an absolutely fitting end to a delightful series.  Beast keeps himself apart from everyone but family, providing protection to the less fortunate on the dark side of London where he dwells, even as each of his siblings find love and a sense of belonging within their own families. It is only fitting that he help Althea Stanwick, brought up in the crème de la crème of English society, navigate her way through the dregs of London where she finds herself after her father’s disgrace.

Althea is a delight. Despite her upbringing, she goes to work in Gilly’s tavern to earn a few coins to help her family. Determined to find a solution that will help her live a good life with money to spare, she decides on acquiring a protector and needs Beast to teach her the tricks of seduction, since he has ladies of the night under his protection.  We all know about best laid plans…

Neither of them expect to fall in love and neither does Benedict expect to find his parents and to know that he is the legitimate heir to his father. For the longest time Benedict had lived in hope that his mother would come back and claim him, but that hope has long since died away in the brutal life that he’s lived. Of course, the one thing he’s always had is the love of his adopted mother and the strong bond with his siblings. Now he can have all that and more, but he’ll have to leave Althea behind. Be careful what you wish for, because choices are never what they seem to be.

The author draws the curtain on a growing, happy brood of siblings, children, and grandchildren, leaving readers basking in a happy ending. Next up are Althea’s siblings. I can’t wait to see where their story leads them.

Grade: A

Summary:

She wants lessons in seduction

Althea Stanwick was a perfect lady destined to marry a wealthy lord, until betrayal left her family penniless. Though she’s lost friends, fortune, and respectability, Althea has gained a scandalous plan. If she can learn to seduce, she can obtain power over men and return to Society on her terms. She even has the perfect teacher in mind, a man whose sense of honor and dark good looks belie his nickname: Beast.

But desire like this can’t be taught

Benedict Trewlove may not know his parentage but he knows where he belongs—on the dark side of London, offering protection wherever it’s needed. Yet no woman has ever made such an outrageous request as this mysterious beauty. Althea is out of place amongst vice and sin, even if she offers a wicked temptation he can’t resist. But as the truth of his origin emerges at last, it will take a fierce, wild love to overcome their pasts.
