Book CoverVeena’s review of Tangled Up In You (Shaughnessy Brothers, Book 7) by Samantha Chase
Contemporary Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 30 Apr 19

Bobby Hannigan is Anna Shaughnessy nee Hannigan’s brother. He has quite the history with Quinn Shaughnessy, especially when he saw what his sister Anna went through loving Quinn, until he realized she was not just his friend but also the love of his heart. Now Tegan Shaughnessy, Quinn’s cousin, has moved to town and it’s Quinn’s turn for payback as Bobby and Tegan flirt around the idea of love and a happily ever after. Just when I thought there were no more Shaughnessys, Ms. Chase gives us one more.

Bobby Hannigan is recovering from a gunshot wound that prevents him from going back to his active job as a police officer in the beach town he makes his home. Teagan and her family move to the Carolina coast to be close to her other Shaughnessy cousins and to give her young son a stable environment amongst family. Their first meeting is hardly the kind that spells romance and yet a quiet friendship is born.  Quinn Shaughnessy, however, does all he can to encourage and derail any budding friendship. Is he getting a bit of his own back?

For readers who’ve enjoyed the series, it’s like going back to the bosom of the family and catching up on all the happenings while Teagan and Bobby’s story plays out. Interestingly, both Teagan and Bobby are gun shy and Teagan has her kindergarten-aged son to consider, especially when he is seeing Bobby as the father figure he never had.

Definitely a convoluted journey which sometimes irritated me as a reader, but, of course, all’s well that ends well.

Grade: B
