Book CoverSammy’s review of Knight’s Salvation (Knight’s of Hell Series, Book 2) by Sherilee Gray
Paranormal Romance published by Sherilee Gray 26 Nov 18

After finishing Book 1, Knight’s Redemption, I wasted no time and downloaded Book 2. To my surprise, it’s about Zenon, the Knight who doesn’t really speak too much and doesn’t like to be touched. I was all on board for this book. I do have to say while Book 1 had a moron hero whom I came to adore, Book 2 decided to really test my book norms. I need to be upfront here, dear readers. The hero in this book has no choice in the circumstances he finds himself. He’s a victim. While things have to be a certain way for a majority of the book, I didn’t hold him responsible and neither does the heroine in the story. I know I am being vague, but I am sure you can fill in the blank spaces. I found this book to be very well written and, like the first book, a very satisfying ending. I hope you take a chance on a very intriguing series that takes chances not too many authors would try.

Zenon has a very dark past and very dark secrets. He keeps to himself and really doesn’t have tight relationships with anyone. He does have his Knight’s back in a fight and that is what matters to Zenon. He is pure demon, right down to his leathery wings. When he broke out of hell, we find out his life is tied to his master’s life and without her he would die, and when he needs a power boost, he must go to her. These power boosts come at a cost to Zenon. I am not going to sugar coat things. It’s not pretty and it’s definitely rage inducing. If the character can go through all that, then I felt I needed to be a brave reader. I tossed out all my preconceived notions and I am happy I did.

Mia Westbrook is the sister from a character you meet in Book 1. She is very well aware of what she is, and up until this point she has remained alone, not wanting to make ties to anyone other than her sister. She knows it’s her time and her sister makes her get in touch with the Knights. Zenon feels the need to go on this mission to retrieve her. He usually takes a back seat on these jobs, one, because he’s scary and, two, he just doesn’t give a shit one way or another. When they meet each other, the sparks are definitely flying. For Mia, this is amazing and new. For Zenon, it’s his worst-case scenario. He is not free to love or be with anyone, especially not his mate. This is a book where you go, “How the hell is this going to work out!”

Mia has a really nifty fire power. She is training on how to work it before she lights everything on fire. While she is training, the relationship building between the two is slow going and difficult. There is a lot of pushing/pulling from Zenon. He is also in denial over the fact that Mia is his mate. Things start getting to the point where he wants her badly, but he also can’t contain his demon and he needs the help of the evil bitch to contain his beast and also renew his power. It’s these scenes in the book that are so damn sad. At this point Mia asks to be moved out of the compound, because it’s too difficult for her to be near Zenon and not be close with him. Zenon watches over her the entire time. When Mia finds out what is happening to him, she goes into fighter mode.

Mia fights for Zenon, and when the other Knights find out, they join the fray. Zenon’s salvation is seriously fantastic. It’s his mate who saves him from a life of slavery. She finds out who her father is. Most of all, Zenon and Mia find each other when they need it the most. This book is sexy, sad, triumphant, and what I love the most is these really difficult circumstances and how they get through it. I highly recommend this series. The 3rd book is due out in January and I seriously can’t wait.
