Book CoverVeena’s review of After Hours (The Boardroom, Book 2) by Lynda Aicher
Erotic Romance published by Carina Press 22 Jan 18

An interesting twist on erotic romance that plays out in the boardrooms of reputable companies instead of in a club.

As I read this and other erotic romances that is so much romance du jour, I wonder if kink is a rich man’s privilege.  This story underscores that further by implying that it’s restricted to the upper echelon of successful corporations. Its not clear how one receives an invitation to play, since it isn’t necessarily talked about openly, but then Avery just short circuits the process by visiting her company boardroom after hours when a scene is in session.

Invited into the boardroom by none other than the head of IT for the firm where she works, she finds her desires at war with her upbringing as she and Carson indulge in hot, erotic encounters that burn off her panties until she decided to forego them.  While their relationship might have started off as a way to scratch their kink, both Carson and Avery soon find softer feelings flaring up between them.  Can they navigate their soon-to-become-rocky path to find that perfect blend of romance and kink?

This book is for readers who enjoy their romance with a strong touch of erotica

Grade: B

Summary:

What’s your pleasure?

From Lynda Aicher, author of the bestselling Wicked Play books, comes an exclusive invitation to the Boardroom—where working late has its rewards.

The Boardroom. After hours, it’s where Bay Area moguls indulge their fantasies. Ties are loosened. Inhibitions, too.

Assistant Avery Fast watched from a distance, mouth gaping, blood roaring wildly in her ears as she stared at the naked woman on the table before her. At executive Carson Haggert ordering a man to pleasure her. It made her feel guilty, embarrassed…and hot.

Carson watched and waited. Waited for Avery to notice him in the Boardroom. Waited for her to like what she saw. Waited to see what she’d do the next day. And the next. He couldn’t let her go—not when she’d seen what goes on in the Boardroom. He couldn’t stop thinking about the desire in her eyes, the flush on her cheeks, her obvious arousal.

Getting her to join was easy. But now Carson wants Avery all to himself.
