Paranormal Romance published by Lyrical Press 20 Jun 17

Destiny has foretold that Liera Venn will meet the man fated to be her soul mate on a train, after which they will fall in love and enjoy their happily ever after. When Liera meets Dr. Julian Ryder at his father’s home, she knows right away that he’s her soul mate – in fact, the burned plate of crisps is evidence of her loss of control. Unfortunately, it seems something has gone wrong and all she can see are smoke and flames when she attempts to look into her future.Julian has dated casually before meeting Liera. Unbeknownst to him, his ex-girlfriend is an assassin for the guardians who want to kill male Albahs, of which Julian is one. Obsessed with Julian, she’s held off from making the kill, hoping to possibly convert him to her side and/or target members of his family.

Both Julian and Liera have fire magic.  While Liera has been immersed in her destiny as an Albah Female destined to find a soul mate, Julian has resisted his fate, particularly after his mother’s death in a fiery car crash.  Julian and Liera start to explore the attraction between them as well as mastery over the fire element, which Liera is still not confident with.

However, no matter what they do, one thing remains constant: Liera can foresee nothing but an ominous future shrouded in smoke and flames. This is an interesting love story with a paranormal twist in a modern-day setting. The suspense gives it a nice edge that I’m enjoying very much.

Summary:

Is theirs a love match?
For Leira Venn, her future is a given foretold by the oracle of the Albah, the ancient people she was born to. Which is why she knows from the moment she meets Dr. Julian Ryder that he is fated to be hers. But nothing else about the prophecy feels right. For the handsome doctor is shrouded by darkness, and intimately involved with a woman who seems intent on killing Leira . . .

Or a death wish?

Sorrow has shadowed Julian Ryder for as long as he can remember. But from the moment he meets lovely Leira, his heart is filled with hope for the future—a future that is as combustible as the powerful attraction between them. For Leira is marked for death by the very forces who killed his mother. The very darkness that stole everything he held most dear. Only this time, Julian is stronger, more in control of his powers than ever. But will it be enough to save Leira from those who would destroy her?
