Book CoverSandy M’s review of Everywhere and Every Way (Billionaire Builders, Book 1) by Jennifer Probst
Contemporary Romance published by Gallery Books 31 May 16

I love reading about brothers. So I figured, when this story came up for review, this is probably a good place to start for my first Jennifer Probst book. I’m so happy to be right for once.

The Pierce brothers have been estranged for nearly six years, when their family fell apart the night their mother died. Caleb is the oldest, and he’s the one who stayed with dad, a man who dealt with the family construction business with an iron hand and who eventually turned into a man none of them knew after his wife’s death. Now Caleb’s younger siblings are home and, thanks to their father, all is still not right in their world.

Deciding to abide by his dad’s dictates one more time when he refuses to allow Caleb to call his brothers when the man is in the hospital, Caleb remains in Tristan’s and Dalton’s bad graces when they arrive for their father’s funeral. New tension and anger on top of old isn’t the way to make the next year go any faster or easier – they must live together and work together for the ensuing twelve months or they lose Pierce Brothers Construction, thanks to their father’s will. Seems ol’ Dad has the last laugh after all. Especially since both Tristan and Dalton have their own lives to get back to. It’s up to Caleb to convince them to stay.

Morgan Raines designs homes for celebrities and she’s quite successful at it. Now she has the opportunity to take her career into the stratosphere by giving her current clients, darlings of Hollywood, exactly what they’re looking for in Caleb’s neck of the woods. However, Caleb has turned down her proposal and Morgan is determined to make it so he can’t reject her again. She’s a wily one when she’s out to get what she wants. Due to the restraints the brothers are now working under, Caleb has no choice but to take her on; they need the profit now that Morgan has cleared the way for her own project.

While both have their secrets, Caleb and Morgan enjoy working together after their initial wariness. The respect and admiration for each other is apparent as the job moves along. Morgan is independent and savvy; Caleb is fair and the best in the business. Pretty soon the chemistry between these two is raging, despite the fact they try to keep it professional. I had to laugh at Morgan’s very female excuse to keep herself out of Caleb’s bed – every woman can relate to that, as well as the reason she forgets all about it when Caleb shows her how feeble that excuse is. But they finally agree to give themselves the months left on the job to slaket their lust and get their hands all over each other before they go their separate ways. Of course, we all know that’s going to backfire on them in the most explosive way.

I like seeing the brothers’ relationship begin to grow and take on new depths now that they’re older and wiser – at least later in the book as far as the wisdom goes. It takes them a bit to come to terms with the past and the feelings that go along with it. All comes to a head on the most important date for all three, and I’m looking forward to watching them become closer as the series goes along. Both Tristan and Dalton are just as sexy and intriguing as Caleb, in their own ways.  Once Morgan decides to come clean with Caleb about her past, at first I was a bit perturbed with Caleb and his reaction, but Ms. Probst doesn’t dilly-dally around with him coming to his senses. So that made me quite happy, along with Morgan, of course.

I have to mention the cover of this book. I love it. Normally I like seeing a bit more of my hero and heroine before I open a book, but this cover says it all. This is definitely a fun read and a good start to the series. Dalton’s story is up next, and we meet his heroine in this book. We know how she’s intertwined in his life, but he’s in for a huge surprise – as are Caleb and Tristan – when they finally discover who she truly is.
