Veena’s review of Seducing His Princess by Olivia Gates
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Desire 1 Mar 14

This story is a very unique twist on the typical Arabian Nights fantasy. The fairy tale romance which had started on such a promising note fizzled and died, but Mohab Aal Gjannem is determined to woo and win back his princess, regardless of what it will take to make it happen.

It takes him a few years to engineer events that bring him back into the Jala Aal Masood’s sphere and in a position to offer her a throne and her family a share in the liquid gold that abounds in his lands. However, it seems that his princess isn’t buying, so there’s nothing to do but for Mohab to change his strategy from reverence to full-out hot-blooded seduction.

Jala has three brothers and they’ve all married for love, the older two having given up their right to the throne for that love. Not willing to settle for anything else and having given her heart to Mohab a long time ago, Jala has resigned herself to remain single. However, Mohab’s full-on seduction erodes the walls she’s built around her heart. Can she accept Mohab’s offer of marriage and build a life with him knowing that he doesn’t love her?

What a convoluted web of misunderstanding exists between them. The author has done a great job of building the pageantry of a desert romance with an interesting mix of characters who are a unique blend of their heritage and western education.

Grade: B
