Initial Story and Today’s Update

They don’t know what killed him and may not know for weeks if there’s no physical findings immediately obivious.

Here’s to the memory of the young man who made me giggle at a medieval knight jousting to Queen’s “We Will Rock You” in A Knight’s Tale.

Here’s to the memory of the young man who ripped my heart out with his nuanced and poignant portrayal of loss at the end of Brokeback Mountain.

Here’s to the memory of a young father trying to deal with life.  It’s sad when “everything” just isn’t enough, even if it reminds the rest of us that it’s probably better not to have it “all.”

Man! That’s so sad. He had a little girl too. It kind of reminds me of when River Pheonix died. Too young and too talanted.

Its so sad. Esp. if it turns out to be an accidental overdose on sleeping pills.

I loved him in A Knight’s Tale. I keep humming Golden Years

He looks like he’s going to be a really great Joker too, in the next Batman movie.

    Le sigh, sadness all around.

This is such a shock. And very sad. He was so talented and had already accomplished so much in so short a time.

I too will always remember him best from A Knight’s Tale. I love that movie.

According to the police and family, it was apparently NOT a suicide. He was being treated for pneumonia, but it’s not clear if/how that contributed to his death.

He will alway be the golden man in A Knight’s Tale to me. One of my all-time favorite movies.

Favorite scene was the dance and that magical moment when we realized that the music had morphed into Bowie’s Golden Years

That is so sad. It’s easy to forget how fragile life is, isn’t it.

I was so sad when I heard about Heath Ledger’s death. Such a tragedy. He was one of the young crowd of actors who I thought would see a long and successful career. I loved him A Knight’s Tale.

    I can’t imagine how his family is feeling . . .

Leah Rozen said it best about his performance in Brokeback Mountain, “…It was a performance so spare that when Ledger did allow his repressed character to express emotion, it reverberated like a seismic wave…”

He also had one of the deepest voices in Hollywood. Perhaps from smoking, but it was still sexy.

Thank you for posting this tribute to Heath Ledger. I feel for the loss felt by his family and friends, especially his young daughter who will miss knowing him as she grows up (and vice versa) and for the world’s loss in seeing him develop as an actor and hopefully much more. Yes, rest in peace Heath.

That grin-inducing dance number from Knight’s Tale. What energy and charisma that guy had.

I just re watched 10 things I hate about you.
“You’re just too go to be true….”

Out of all the celebs out there, he was not even on my list of which ones would die anytime soon.
Not that I really keep a list, but you know what I mean.
