Hope you weren’t really counting on Thea Devine’s next novel to be a historical…
In Too Deep by Thea Devine
**Sept 9, 2008**
“The Queen of Erotic Romance” (Romantic Times) and USA TODAY bestselling author Thea Devine delivers a new contemporary erotic adventure about a young woman determined to overcome poverty by becoming New York City’s premier female escort.
Jillian Durant survived growing up with an alcoholic father, a chronically ill mother, foster care, and poverty. So when she lands a prestigious job at an advertising agency, she is determined to climb the ladder to success and escape her past. But Jillian’s career aspirations are put on hold as she becomes swept up in a steamy affair with her married boss, which opens the door to a different lucrative career. A well-known executive wants a beautiful woman to accompany him on an important business trip, and he is willing to pay top dollar for Jillian’s company. Before long that executive refers her to another, and her network of clients grows, each willing to pay handsomely for different services…and sexy extras.
Don’t know about you guys but doesn’t sound like a good read to me. Sorry Wendy 🙁
It doesn’t sound all that good to me either – so no need to apologize.
I think Devine can be “good” in an overly-campy-train-wreck sort of way, but that type of story tends to work a lot better in a historical back drop than a contemporary one. Some of her Victorians for Brava were entertaining in a OMG! way and I have deep affection for her detour to the Louisiana Bayou with Desired.
