I had everything a woman could want.

My husband James. The house on the lake. My life. Our perfect life. And then Alex came to visit. The first time I saw my husband’s best friend, I didn’t like him. Didn’t like how James changed when he was around, didn’t like how his penetrating eyes followed me everywhere. But that didn’t stop me from wanting him. And surprisingly, James didn’t seem to mind.

It was meant to be fun. Something the three of us shared for those hot summer weeks Alex stayed with us. Nobody was supposed to fall in or out of love. I didn’t need another man, not even one who oozed sex like honey and knew all the secrets I didn’t know, the secrets my husband hadn’t shared. After all, we had a perfect life. I loved my husband.

But I wasn’t the only one.

read excerpt

James and Anne have been married for six years. They have a good marriage and Anne loves her husband. James and Alex have been friends for years. They’d had a falling out and haven’t spoken for quite a while, though. When Alex calls out of the blue and James offers their home to him for his summer visit, Anne is not sure that’s the best idea. But after the initial awkwardness, Alex’s bad boy attitude and overt sensuality make her look at him in a whole new light. And when James doesn’t seem to mind a few kisses between Alex and Anne, from there the trio is lead into a summer of hot sex and a wave of feelings that may destroy both a marriage and a friendship.

Tempted is a look into all kinds of love and each situation is explored quite well. Not only do we delve into the tangled relationship of the main characters, we also get into the family relationships of each of those characters and the dynamics of those families are as different as the characters themselves. Secrets and lies are uncovered, familial lines are drawn while others are broken, and sex has never been so good.

I was a little surprised at the ending…at first. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized it really couldn’t end any other way. Well, maybe it could, but I don’t think another ending would have done the book justice and it would have changed the energy of the book, the forcefulness of what had been shared not only between the main characters, but also between them and the reader. I was quite satisfied as I closed the book when finished reading it.

Ms. Hart has a smooth, fluid writing style that pulls you into the book and before you know it, you’re a hundred pages into it and you have no will to stop reading at all. Her characters are diverse and complex, as are the relationships between them. And your emotions will run the gamut from laughing to shedding a few tears. Definitely pick up this book and be very tempted to…

You’ll figure it out.
