Give Me A Texan by Jodi Thomas, Linda Broday, Phyliss Miranda and DeWanna Pace
(Formerly titled Amarillo By Morning)
Hank Harris wasn’t even looking for a woman when he ended up with a wife. Their hasty marriage is for appearances only: a capable, intelligent woman like Aggie is exactly who he needs as a business partner—if only she weren’t so damn beautiful, spirited—and in his bed…
Payton McCord thought he was one tough cowboy until Amanda Lemmons made him mind his manners. And a woman of her caliber is worth the trouble she causes…
Newspaperman Quinten Corbett wasn’t expecting his new apprentice to be female. Boston-born Kaira Renaulde is far too refined for a rough-and-tumble frontier town—and far too pretty for his peace of mind…
Briar Duncan knows he needs someone to help him raise his headstrong little daughter. But Mina McCoy is more than he bargained for—much more! The woman has the face of an angel and a very definite mind of her own…
I need this! Just saying… Doesn’t come out until Feb 2008. So make a note on your list. New Western!
Dang! Look at that 8 pack I got the Ken doll look!
Is it possible to look the good and droolworthy?
Not to mention the “V” that goes with that 8 pack, Kate! Helps point the way! 😉
whoot! Lovin’ the cover 😉
I am so insanely looking forward to this one it ain’t even funny.
For me, it’s all about the shirt and the rolled up sleeves. That’s some beefcake done right. I want to eat him.
Looking forward to this one, too. And, um, is the “formerly titled Amarillo by Morning” a joke? Please say it is, and that it wasn’t called that.
Hey at least they changed it… right?
I see you found our anthology. Great! I’m so glad it’s attracting all this interest and it’s not even February yet. You ladies are wonderful. I was so thrilled to be included in this project and I think we each have well-written stories. Jodi blew me away when she asked me if I’d like to participate. It took me all of two seconds to say yes! I knew it was gonna be special. I’m counting the days until it releases.
And yeah, Nathan Kamp sure does the cover justice. He has me drooling! Makes a darn good cowboy.
Nathan Kamp is becoming the newest Fabio or the 21st century! And I gind him so much more appealing!
Gosh those abs.. and as Christine said, that V! drool drool…
Whoa – give me a Texan too! Hot cover, ladies!
Nope, “Amarillo by Morning” wasn’t a joke :-), but we are thrilled Kensington changed it to “Give Me a Texan”. The next anthology is due out in Feb. 09 and is titled “Give Me a Cowboy” … man do we ever hope Nathan is our cover on that one, too. One of my biggest distractions … I have the life size promo poster of “Texan” at my house, so I have to look at “him” all day long!
I’ve seen too many covers that didn’t depict the true topography of the setting for the book, so I was concerned that it’d come out with Saguaro cactus like you’d find in Arizona, and look nothing like the Texas Panhandle. When I got the first .jpg, I immediately began tossing accolades all over the place for such “wonder topography” My most memorable comment, “Yep, he sure has great topography, doesn’t he!”
Meljean, funny you’d mention the original working title. When we came up with the idea of doing this anthology we submitted a title that went along with Kensington’s “All Our Heros are Cowboy”, so we figured since three out of the four of us are from Amarillo why not capitalize on George Strait’s “Amarillo by Morning”; thus that title.
Thanks everyone for your nice comments. We had a lot of fun writing these stories just for you! Phyliss Miranda
Phyliss, I know it must be sheer torture to have to look at that life size poster of our cover all day! LOL You’re a hoot! I’m surprised you haven’t soaked it in drool yet. We’re not man crazy, Y’all, we simply like our cowboys. And we love writing about ’em. They make the most exciting heroes.
Wow! I’m so excited that y’all have discovered our anthology and are anticipating its release. Working with Jodi, Linda and Phyliss has been one of the highlights of my career. Can’t wait to see what you all think of our cowboys “inside” the covers.
