September is shaping up to be a great month for upcoming historicals from Zebra. What do you think of the cover? Like it better than the other two?
I still don’t like the idea of messing with the ‘branding’ of a series. I mean the first two books follow a theme. But maybe they didn’t sell well? I am not sure.
I liked both of them so if this will help and not hurt I am all for it. Sadly to see if it works…

I just finished a follow-up to WHAT A GENTLEMAN WANTS, in which the very wicked brother, David, gets his comeuppance.
It’s a bit about not knowing what you’ve got until you’re about to lose it. I didn’t begin WHAT A GENTLEMAN WANTS with the intention of writing David’s story, so I made him pretty bad, and left myself quite a hole to climb out of with him!
But his heroine is one of my favorites; she’s very smart-mouthed, and clear-eyed about the world, and she doesn’t take any baloney from anyone, especially not David which is exactly what he needs. And now I’m getting started on Marcus’s and David’s younger sister, Celia.
Okay, that’s way hawt.
How do you find all this neat stuff?!?!?! You are months ahead of the rest of us 🙂
Is that a purse in her skirt or is she just happy to see him? I cant even remember what the previous covers looked like except that one was all red. I am jotting this down on my TBB List for Sept. Thanks, Sybil! 🙂

You know, Fall is looking good. I am very interested in Sherry Thomas’ Fall release. The excerpt on her site looks delicious. And Eve Kenin’s book, Driven, is coming out in September which is fresh, edgy, sexy and action packed.
It is almost odd though… it is like March. Sept has sooooooooo many nifty books coming out. hmmmm so does Oct.
I was told that they put out big books in october hoping that they will gain velocity and become big gift purchases in nov. and december.
I just notice that June has a lot of good books coming out. Sigh.
Sorry hon, but yeah… so does July… August…

Isn’t that the brother that we see having sex ‘on screen’ in the previous book? If yes, after reading that scene I was left with absolutely no desire to read his story. I’ll give it a pass without regret.
Yes, that is the brother, Estelle. If it makes you feel any better, I made him suffer quite a lot in the course of his book…he really did deserve it!

We posted an excerpt as well as a link to the first chapter, give it a looksee. You never know you might like it. I admit I love the bad boy gone good – if the author does it well. And really that is why Devil in Winter is still one of my fave books.
The trick is selling it. Can the author redeem him or does it ring false. I enjoyed the book and thought she did a good job of it. And in an interesting way.
Of course it might not work for you. Gentleman is still my fave of all three though, followed by this one. 🙂
Ah, I’ll have a look at the excerpt then. If he’s made to go through the wringer and suffer quite a lot then I might just give him a chance, lol!
I really liked Caroline’s post about not planning to give David a book and making him as bad as she could and I also found myself wondering ‘who would want this dude?’ So darn, I want the answer to that question now!
