Susan Mallery shares a peek into her TBR mountain...

Purple_Bar_Divider

Book CoverSusan MalleryIt's been a great summer of reading. I just finished the last Harry Potter book. It was quite the workout, holding the book, but worth it.

Best reads so far...

Book CoverBook Cover More than Fiends by Maureen Child and Scent of Darkness by Christina Dodd. Both paranormals, which is interesting because I don't read a lot of that genre. Fiends was fabulous and laugh-out-loud funny!! Scent of Darkness was incredibly sexy. Very excellent books.

Book CoverI'm currently reading Ain't She Sweet by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I'm seriously loving this book!!

Book CoverMy TBR pile is huge (aren't they all?). I picked up several books at the RWA conference, including an ARC for Vickie Lewis Thompson's Over Hexed. Looking forward to that one.

Random plastic tub image - ain't it cute?As to how I organize my books...non fiction is filed by subject: writing, research, general interest. Fiction books I've read are in big plastic tubs, stored around the house. Honestly, who has the room???

So what about you? What are you planning to read next?

Next on my list is NEXT TO DIE by Marliss Melton. I'm loving her SEAL series. I'm also awaiting Suzanne Brockmann's August 14 release of her next Troubleshooter book FORCE OF NATURE. And Julie Miller's Precinct Book UP AGAINST THE WALL.

I just finished up Robyn Carr's Virgin River series~I LOVED that series. I can't wait for the next one~2009?!! waaaaaah!!

And now I have to add TEMPTING to the list. I have 2 bookshelves of TBR books. My husband just shakes his head and laughs!

I am currently reading an old Meryl Sawyer, love, love, love her old romantic suspense titles. I like the thing with the plastic tubs, usually it's always cramped shelves and overstuffed drawers, that's something new. I try to keep my TBR moderately small *cough*. My big advantage is that I have a relatively small romance keepershelf with no more than 120 - 150 novels. My literature shelf however seriously suffers and needs "offspring" *g*.

I keep very few books once I read them, my problem is that I have my big plastic tubs filled with TBR books. More books than any one girl needs.

Right now I'm reading an older title - HAVE YOU SEEN HER? by Karen Rose. Not sure what will be next - whatever jumps out at me from the TBR.

The one book coming out soon that I'm dying to read is A REASON TO BELIEVE by Maureen McKade - lay down date August 7.

Hi Susan, from your friendly neighborhood stalker. :-) Let's see... I just finished Simon Says by Lori Foster and now I'm reading High Noon by Nora Roberts. I've got When She Was Bad by Cindy Kirk, Sun, Sand, and Sex Antho with Linda Lael Miller, Hard and Fast(Blaze) by Lisa Renee Jones, and She Did A Bad, Bad Thing by Stephanie Bond.

Lots of good stuff on my TBR. :-)

    Hi Susan, Hi Sybil!
AIN'T SHE SWEET was my first book of SEP I read! So I can't wait to read more. I love Maureen Child and can't wait for her new one. I'm reading DANGEROUS GAMES by Lora Leigh right now. Really intense story and tension and sizzling! One hard to put down to read! Next up with be a fantasy romance by Linda Mooney called AEQUANA. Its going to be a great read!

I always have a hard time what to read next, I want to read it all now! :)

My next read is Harry Potter VII, since my husband just finished it. Then it's Never Deceive a Duke. And I, like so many others, have been trying to whittle away at my TBR pile. So after the above two, if I'm in the mood for a historical I'll finally be getting to Patricia Potter's "The Black Knave". But if I'm in the mood for a contemporary I may pick up a Susan Mallery! ;)

  16. Nora Roberts on August 1st, 2007 5:24 am

Sorry, were there pictures of books? All I could see was the baby. Awwww. That's so cute!

  17. Sybil on August 1st, 2007 7:41 am

LOL nora that is what I thought when I saw the post!!! You can sooooo tell when gwen formats because there are cutie pics in them or nekkid men.

    Sometimes both...

Fatin! Did you like it? I picked up her first book in that series at RWA and she was just the nicest. You know didn't fall back in horror when she heard I was a blogger ;). But I haven't gotten anywhere near starting it yet. err that is to say unless lawson ran off with it.

  18. Teresa W. on August 1st, 2007 3:21 pm

  19. Gwen on August 1st, 2007 4:33 pm

Hey - that baby could be a nekkid male, too! And he's in a plastic tub. Perfectly appropriate for Susan's comment nearby. :)
