This book is the last in Candice Hern’s new trilogy. I just love the cover too. Ssssqqqquuueeee!

Lady Be Bad: The Merry Widows Series (Merry Widows)

The widow of a famous bishop, Grace Marlowe is both shocked and intrigued by the amorous adventures of her fellow Merry Widows. Though she agreed to their pact, she can’t imagine giving herself over to passion-until the most notorious libertine in London sets his sights on her.

John Grayston, seventh Viscount Rochdale, has never refused a wager. Now he’s willing to stake his most prized possession that there’s not a single woman in all England immune to his charms. But when the object of the wager is the prim and proper Grace Marlowe, he has to turn on the full force of his seductive allure-without losing his heart.

To this humble reader it’s ssssqqquuueeee historical. The other two in this series, called the Merry Widows are superb. The first in the Merry Widows trilogy is In the Thrill of the Night and the second is Just One of Those Flings . Both are great reads and on Candice Hern’s website she has described them as “Sex and the City meets Regency”.

The Merry Widows are five women who work for a charity, but make a pact to enjoy life, take lovers and then talk about it together later. And there is no sparing of the details. There’s nothing wrong with that, ’cause heck, if you’re having a good time with a lover, you should share the experience with your friends. We all can’t be that lucky. Since it is a trilogy, only three are getting their story told, but the others are integral to the rest of the stories, and do find their own HEA. 🙂

In the Thrill of the Night (Merry Widows)Just One of Those Flings (Signet Eclipse)

There’s a limited time excerpt here and a full excerpt should be coming later on. . .

While you’re at Candice’s website look at her marvelous collections of all things regency (I wish I could get a collection like that). She also talks about how she became interested in her collection and why she’s collected the things she has. And how much other authors have borrowed things to use in their books.

If you haven’t already, between now and August 7 pick up the first two books in the series, they are definitly worth it. And count down, I know I’m excited.
