Thank you, Sybil! I think it’s rather nice, too. I went through COS, who contracted Victoria Fraasa, a movie producer in California. She hired actors to speak designated lines from my book (chosen by me), in order to create the mini-trailer. The actors she hired were British, as my characters are British, except she couldn’t find a British child actor for the newspaper boy. So she had one of the other actors come in and teach him how to speak with a Cockney accent. It was soooo funny, listening to the little boy belt out, “Murder an’ may’im! Read it ‘ere!” He was so cute; we all loved him. I was on the phone for over three hours that day, listening in and giving advice when solicited. Very educational. And the guy who was the instructor. Yum! I’ll post a link to his site . . .
Oh, that little boy was something else, Beth. He was soooo game! Poor thing, if he ever has the word mayhem on a spelling quiz, he’ll probably flunk. Drew (the yummy musician/actor) and I told him to think about all the gory things little boys love, and project that into his voice when shouting out about murder.
I love the voice-overs and the accents! It definitely gives it a lovely historical flavor. And I have to admit I’m glad the visuals weren’t acted out — all of the live action trailers I’ve seen have been a little, um … well, the actors never fit my mental image. But voices? Those are great.
Oooh! Thanks, Meljean! I’m glad you liked it. The man who says, “This trial affects everyone in this room” (that’s James’ character talking) is the same guy who did voice-overs in the movie Pirates of the Carribean. Oh my! When I first heard him over the telephone . . . Well, I had hot flashes that had nothing to do with menopause. LOL All I can say is . . . He was born to be James.

I like the voice-overs – don’t see that much in a trailer. Sweet! What a great story about the little boy – he got that accent down though, didn’t he?

Speaking of! Here’s Drews website with pics. http://www.drewbroadrick.com
Enjoyed the trailer, and thanks for Drew’s website link, he is a cutie.
Isn’t he though, Cathy? Drew practically is the entire project. In the movie, he speaks the below lines/parts:
Jack Loudon (prosecuting barrister for the Crown): Is there nothing you won’t do to win, Whitcox?
Joseph Manning (founder of the Men and Women’s Club): Mr. Whitcox and Mrs. Hart have turned this club into a society encouraging sexual misconduct.
George Addimore (a member of the Club): Do not tell me that she does not shock you, too.
