Have you ever read an ebook?
Yes.
Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
Just used my Palm M130, but I’m very interested in an ereader and will be reading responses with interest. The battery in my M130 doesn’t last anywhere near as long as I’d like.
Where do you purchase your ebooks?
Ellora’s Cave and Amazon.com
What are the top five e publishers you read? Top five e authors?
Been a while and I don’t remember.
What e publisher do you think more people should read? E Author?
No opinion – yet.
What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on?
No opinion.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me?
No – they’re amateurish and look like a bad art project (for all the CGI).
Who are some epublished authors you would love to see in Print (meaning large print publishing house)?
No opinion.
Have you ever read an ebook?
Yep. ;o)
Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
Nope, but I want one. I think I’ll get a Franklin sooner or later.
Where do you purchase your ebooks?
Ellora’s Cave or Samhain Publishing
What are the top five e publishers you read? Top five e authors?
Ellora’s Cave or Samhain Publishing.
Lora Leigh, Jaci Burton, Mary Wine, Shelby Reed, Joey Hill, Cheyenne McCray… oops that’s six, can’t count. ;o)
What e publisher do you think more people should read? E Author?
Samhain, they’re new but they are getting pretty popular. Mary Wine and Shelby Reed.
What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on?
I usually just stick with these two.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me?
I don’t comment on covers… lol, unless they are mine or one I’ve seen that knocks my socks off.
Who are some epublished authors you would love to see in Print (meaning large print publishing house)?
Mary Wine and Shelby Reed.
Have you ever read an ebook?
Yep, though I should mention I tend to read more electronic versions of print books than books originally published as ebooks. I read only 12 books by epublishers last year.
Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
I have an Ebookwise, and I’d highly recommend it. It’s cheap, only a little bit heavier than a regular paperback, has a big, backlit screen, and the battery life is great (at the settings I use it, about 19 hours, and I think the “normal” time is 15 hs). I also like that it reads quite a few formats. The only one I wish it would read but it doesn’t is pdf.
Where do you purchase your ebooks?
Generally on fictionwise, but if I see the publisher has it cheaper (and if it’s well-known enough that i don’t mind giving it my credit card, or it accepts paypal), I’ll go with them.
What are the top five e publishers you read? Top five e authors?
I’ve read mostly Ellora’s Cave, Torquere and Loose-Id. I’ve also bought from Samhain, LTD, Phaze, Triskelion and a couple more, but not enough that I’d be able to differentiate enough to place one of them in my top.
Top authors: I LOVE Lisa Marie Rice and Stephanie Vaughan, loved their books enough to get their entire backlists. So they would be 1 & 2. I’ve also enjoyed Evangeline Anderson, Kimberly Dean, Deanna Lee and Laura Baumbach, but I’ve only read one book, so I wouldn’t place them on fave lists..
What e publisher do you think more people should read? E Author?
E-publisher, no opinion. E Author: my faves! Lisa Marie Rice reads like a sexier Linda Howard, or Shannon McKenna, while Stephanie Vaughan’s style somehow reminds me of Suzanne Brockmann (only without the multiple storylines!)
What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on?
None, really.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me?
Can’t say I do, and sorry, I can’t explain it 😉
Who are some epublished authors you would love to see in Print (meaning large print publishing house)?
Same answer as above, those two faves of mine!
Have you ever read an ebook?
Yes, all the time
Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
Nope. I read from my computer
Where do you purchase your ebooks?
Ellora’s Cave, Samhain, Whispers, sometimes Amber Quill, Loose Id and a friend of mine had a Venus release and I bought hers.
What are the top five e publishers you read? Top five e authors?
EC and Samhain.
Oh man – that’s a tough question! Of folks writing right now – Anya Bast, Megan Hart, Shelley Munro, NJ Walters and TJ Michaels – oldies I love but who’ve pretty much moved to print? Jaci Burton, Shiloh Walker and Christine Warren.
What e publisher do you think more people should read? E Author?
Samhain – NJ Walters
What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on?
Oh uh uh. I have a big mouth but not that big.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me?
As an author, I know how much it sucks to not like your covers. You can’t really say much when you get one you don’t like because you don’t want to hurt yourself or your cover artists. So there are covers out there that I find to be totally awful and I don’t understand why they’re used. But I do understand how expensive good covers are. And I realize that’s not really an answer, LOL.
Who are some epublished authors you would love to see in Print (meaning large print publishing house)? Me (hey, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that). Many of my favorites have made big deals in the last year. I’d love to see NJ out there and Shelley Munro too.
Have you ever read an ebook?
Yes
Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
I just got an ebookwise in November and I’m loving it.
Where do you purchase your ebooks?
So far Fictionwise, Ellora’s Cave, and Powells.com
What are the top five e publishers you read? Top five e authors?
So far I’ve actually bought a lot more paper published authors for my ebookwise so I can get rid of some of my keeper books lying around our (very tiny) house. I’ve done a lot of rereading of some of my favorite books. Otherwise, I’ve only bought from EC. I’m very much looking forward to delving into more e authors work. However, I’m not into very erotic and particularly don’t care for menage scenarios, so I’m being pretty selective. I have tried and enjoyed Lisa Marie Rice and Shiloh Walker.

What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on? None…yet.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me? My only exposure to Changeling’s covers was via KarenS’s post and the resulting brouhaha, so I have no nuggets of wisdom to share 😉

What e publisher(s) do you stay away from and are there any you have given up on?
I don’t remember the names…but the websites were scary and unfriendly to navigate.
Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me?
Don’t you think it is the fun of the mocking? 😉 They are sooo bad, there have to be people who like them – just like some people like the print book covers with the dude with his shirt open grabbing the chick that is about to fall out of her dress.
Who are some epublished authors you would love to see in Print (meaning large print publishing house)?
Most of them are already there – Lora and Shiloh, for example.
1. I have read one ebook, but only because I couldn’t get the book from my library and someone sent it to me.
2. Nope, no reader here, and that is part of the reason why I don’t really do e-books. When I read it on my PC I found it really easy to get distracted by instant chat, other websites etc etc.
3 and all the other – not relevant for me!

Do you understand the appeal of Changeling’s covers and can you explain it to me? It’s unfortunate, but they always make me think less of what’s inside. The old judge a book by its cover thing. I know its related to $$, but I feel bad for the authors.

Yes, many. I first picked up ebooks when I was in college. One night around 2 am I was desperate for something to read but the bookstores were closed and I was poor anyway. Some googling brought me to an e-book publisher. They had cheaper books with more sex (very important to me at the time, I was in college after all) that were available immediately. Perfect!

Do you have an ereader? What kind? Would you recommend it?
Yes, I have a Rocket eBook Reader–over six years old now. It works great. I would recommend it highly–you can blow up the font size so you don’t need your glasses to read, plus it’s backlit, so you can read in bed late at night and not wake your partner up.

Online, usually at the publisher’s sites, sometimes Fictionwise.
