Book CoverLynne Connolly's review of Dante’s Blackmailed Bride by Day Leclaire
Category Romance released by Silhouette Desire 12 Feb 08

The Dante family own a jewelry business getting back on its feet after a disastrous period. Four brothers are involved and they get one book each. They are all cursed, or blessed with something called Dante’s Inferno (I know, I winced, but it really works – trust me) when a man sees the woman and there’s an instant connection. To ignore it means disaster, as the Dante brothers’ father discovered.

REVIEW: Shocking the Senator by Leanne Banks

October 1, 2008

book cover Limecello's review of Shocking the Senator by Leanne Banks
Contemporary romance released by Silhouette Desire 1 Dec 04

While the story line isn't something new, Leanne Banks manages to make Shocking the Senator fresh. It's an incredibly well written book-  in fact, it's one of my all time favorites. I've read it a number of times. Shocking the Senator may in fact be what got me hooked on the Desire line - and the other stories I've found have cemented such feelings, with Ms. Banks providing a number of excellent reads.

REVIEWS: Trilogy by Gates and Brides by Marton

September 27, 2008

lynnec.jpgLynne Connolly's reviews of the Throne of Judar Trilogy by Olivia Gates and The Billionaires' Brides Series by Sandra Marton
Contemporary romances released by Silhouette Desire & Harlequin Presents

I've been in bed for a week with the flu for the past week, and all I could do was read. So, being woolly-headed, I went for Harlequin, my comfort reads of choice.

Apart from my fave Sara Cravens, I discovered Olivia Gates’ Throne of Judar trilogy, and Sandra Marton's The Billionaires' Brides series. Totally preposterous plots, but if you go with them, you find interesting characters and situations that the authors work hard for you to believe in.  Read more

REVIEW: Pride and A Pregnancy Secret by Tessa Radley

September 21, 2008

book cover Limecello's review of Pride & A Pregnancy Secret by Tessa Radley
Contemporary romance published by Silhouette Desire on 12 Feb 08

While secret baby stories aren't my favorite, I really enjoyed Pride & A Pregnancy Secret and felt that Ms. Radley did an excellent job with her book. In fact, this was my favorite story in the Diamonds Down Under (DDU) series - most of which are still available at eHarlequin. I also singled this book out because Ms. Radley is writing a  new series titled The Saxon Brides - which are loosely connected to the DDU books.

REVIEW: Billionaire’s Marriage Bargain by Leanne Banks

August 28, 2008

Book Cover Limecello's review of Billionaire's Marriage Bargain by Leanne Banks
Contemporary romance published by Silhouette Desire on 12 Aug 08

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but Leanne Banks is one of my favorite Desire authors. She may be the one who first got me hooked on the line. I tend to enjoy both her category books as well as her novels. Billionaire's Marriage Bargain is the second of her The Billionaire's Club books. (I could have sworn I also reviewed the first, Bedded By the Billionaire, but I guess not. It was good, however.)

REVIEW: Night of Love by Diana Palmer

August 2, 2008

night-of-love-by-diana-palmer.jpg Limecello's review of Night of Love by Diana Palmer
Contemporary Romance released by Silhouette Desire on Aug 93 & Dec 98
Released again in Mar 08 as one-half of Man of the Hour (see end of review)

This book is interesting, in my opinion, because it's not part of Diana Palmer's Long Tall Texans series. Of course, that's not the only intriguing facet about it. The characters are well written and developed, though their story is slightly similar to Ms. Palmer's other books. Read more

REVIEW: Secret Agent Man by Diana Palmer

August 1, 2008

Book CoverLimecello's review of Secret Agent Man by Diana Palmer
Contemporary Romance published by Silhouette Desire on Dec 93
Released again in Mar 08 as one-half of Man of the Hour (see end of review)

I really like this book. I enjoyed reading about the characters, and found both the story line and subplots interesting, and important. What I really appreciate about the book is a minor aspect, but one I think is important, and love when romances "teach" real life lessons. Here, it's how important knowledge of self defense is for women. Read more

REVIEW: Mistress For a Month by Ann Major

July 31, 2008

book cover Limecello's review of Mistress For a Month by Ann Major
Contemporary romance published by Silhouette on 1 May 08

Ann Major is an author I'm unsure about, but tend to like. Thus far, her books are hit or miss for me, but when she hits, they're spot on. This was one such book. It's typical of any other Silhouette Desire in some ways, yet completely different, and very well written. Read more

Review: The Illegitimate Prince’s Baby by Michelle Celmer

July 22, 2008

Book CoverDevon's review of The Illegitimate Prince's Baby by Michelle Celmer
Contemporary romance released by Silhouette Desire 1 Jun 08

I must admit, it was The Illegitimate Prince that first caught my eye. I love a royal bastard. Seriously. The whole being part of something, but not really, and being looked down upon for something that had nothing to do with you...much potential for angst and drama. I had read a SSE by Michelle Celmer a year or so ago, and enjoyed it. But she seems to primarily write Desires, so I decided to give this one a go, despite the fact that I don't have much luck with that particular line. The Illegitimate Prince's Baby was an entertaining, if predictable, read. Read more
