REVIEW: How to Seduce a Texan by Karen Kelley
LauraJ’s review of How to Seduce a Texan by Karen Kelley
Contemporary Romantic Comedy released by Brava 1 Jun 09
Karen Kelley has done it again. She has once again written a fun, funny and just plain entertaining story, which is exactly what I want and needed. When I read a book I want to be entertained. I want to escape from the reality of my world and laugh, smile and relax. While this story is not as quirky as some of her other books, such as the Planet Nerak series (which I do enjoy) I still found myself laughing at the situations that the hero and heroine got into. read more…

REVIEW: Bride of a Wicked Scotsman by Samantha James
Sandy M’s review of Bride of a Wicked Scotsman by Samantha James
Historical Romance published by Avon 24 Feb 09
My first thought just a chapter or so into this book was that it’s going way too slow, even for me. But I’m happy to say that it picked up with the appearance of the hero and I ended up really enjoying this story. It is a theme we’ve read a lot of over the years, hero is tricked into marriage, though usually it’s not the heroine. In this case it is and her reasons are different enough to keep things interesting. And I liked these two characters together, even when things weren’t going that well for them. read more…

Four girls approach the Season no longer believing they have any real chance. It is not their first and they still have no prospects. Annabelle Peyton has beauty, but no money. Lillian and Daisy Bowman have scads of money, but they are uncouth Americans. Evangeline Jenner has money, but she is also common – as well as exceedingly shy. But these wallflowers make a pact: from oldest to youngest, they’ll help each other find a husband. read more…

REVIEW: Midnight Sins by Cynthia Eden
Sandy M’s review of Midnight Sins (Midnight Trilogy, Book 2) by Cynthia Eden
Contemporary Paranormal Erotic Romance published by Brava 1 Dec 08
I guess being six months behind on reading a series is better than years like most others in my TBR pile. The third book, Midnight’s Master, in this trilogy just released last month, so at least I’m up to date to get started on it now and hopefully not in six months. Honestly, though, I have no idea why I waited so long to read this book. I loved the first book, Hotter After Midnight and even lamented in my review that I had to wait too long for Midnight Sins. But it’s finally read and, just as with Hotter After Midnight, I had a time of it. read more…

A failed marriage, lingering sexual desire, and a high school reunion with an open bar. What should be a recipe for disaster, and countless hours spent with a therapist, is actually the jumping off point in Portia Da Costa’s second short story in her Risque Reunions series for Spice Briefs. read more…
REVIEW: Sanctuary Lost by Moira Rogers
Sandy M’s review of Sanctuary Lost (Red Rock Pass, Book 2) by Moira Rogers
Contemporary Paranormal Romance ebook published by Samhain 9 Jun 09
I’ve been in a shifter mood lately and what better way to feed that mood than to read a Red Rock Pass book by Moira Rogers. I’ve been anticipating this book since I read and reviewed the first book in the series, Cry Sanctuary, last year. Not only do we get a new romance in this book, but we also get to catch up with all those previous characters. And instead of slaking my hunger for shifters, SL only made me want more.
