REVIEW: Not His Kiss to Take by Finn Marlowe
Ash’s review of Not His Kiss to Take by Finn Marlowe
Contemporary Erotic Gay Romance ebook released by Smashwords 15 Dec 12
Not His Kiss to Take is not something I would normally read, but a friend made a comment about it that just made me curious. It turned out to be a very…enlightening read.
REVIEW: The Seduction of Elliot McBride by Jennifer Ashley
Sandy M’s review of The Seduction of Elliot McBride (Highland Pleasures, Book 5) by Jennifer Ashley
Historical Romance published by Berkley 31 Dec 12
I didn’t know what to expect when I discovered Jennifer Ashley was going to be giving us McBride stories in her Highland Pleasures series. I mean, it’s those Mackenzie brothers we love, and since all of their stories have been told – with the exception of Daniel, of course – this is the only way for the series to continue. But I’d sure miss Ian and the gang. Fortunately, this author is one who knows her readers. While we get a fascinating story with a tortured and sexy hero and a heroine who loves him as he is, those Mackenzies show up full force along the way!
EXCERPT: Going Under by Lauren Dane
Have a few minutes? Want to make the world go away for a bit? We can do that for you! The latest book in Lauren Dane‘s Bound by Magick series, Going Under, is on shelves today.
So until you can make it to your local bookstore, enjoy the first chapter of the book to get to know Gage and Molly and how the Others are faring in the aftermath of the Magister’s devastating attack.
I have a feeling you’re going to like these characters a lot, grieve with them, get ticked off with them, and then cheer them on when push really comes to shove.
Summary:
In the wake of the Magister’s rampage, chaos rules. Left reeling, the Others and the humans scramble to create a some sort of unity in the face of growing unrest and violence from anti-Other hate groups federation—and ruthless PR guru Molly Ryan is the witch who can do it. She grew up in the human world but there’s nothing left for her there. She’s lost her PR firm, her friends and she’s decided to put all her fight toward aiding the Others in this dark, new reality. If there’s anything left for her there, she’s going to fight for it. But Gage Garrity, one of the few Others who survived the massacre, fears that the crusade will expose Molly to greater dangers than ever before.
Now, together, with magick on their side, they’re on the road in a desperate struggle to unite a torn world. From state houses to television news to legislative conference rooms across the country, they’re fighting the good fight. And it’s bringing out a passion in both of them they never expected—one as volatile, intense, and all-consuming as their relentless battle for world unity. A battle that could be their undoing…
REVIEW: Going Under by Lauren Dane
Sandy M’s review of Going Under (Bound by Magick, Book 3) by Lauren Dane
Paranormal Romance published by Berkley 5 Feb 13
Even with this being the third book in the series and I’ve not read either of the other two, I enjoyed the paranormal world Lauren Dane has created in her Bound by Magick series. I also really enjoyed the lead characters, Gage and Molly, both very strong, independent people who find attraction amid chaos, danger, and pure evil when their kind is outed and attacked just for being different.
REVIEW: A Real Cowboy by Sarah M. Anderson
LynneC’s review of A Real Cowboy by Sarah M. Anderson
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Desire 5 Feb 13
Recently books from the Desire line have been disappointing, with flat characters who have no chemistry together, but this book is most definitely an exception to that rule. A Real Cowboy involves a man running from his past and a woman sent to find him but who finds much more than she expected.

REVIEW: Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Ash’s review of Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Young adult published by HarperCollins 03 Jan 12
With the success of The Hunger Games there have been a ton of similar dystopian books, most of which I avoid unless I hear a lot about it. I don’t want to read books that come out because another did well, they never seem to work for me. I started hearing a lot of good things about Under the Never Sky, so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did.
REVIEW: Dealing her Final Card by Jennie Lucas
LynneC’s review of Dealing her Final Card by Jennie Lucas
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 22 Jan 13
Where do I start? A Jennie Lucas is a very special thing – an old-style Harlequin Presents. It tips its hat to reality, then sticks two fingers up at it – or in this story’s case, in it. The story depends on whether the hero and heroine are depicted in a sympathetic way.
