REVIEW: No Turning Back by HelenKay Dimon
Sandy M’s review of No Turning Back (Hanover Brothers, Book 1) by HelenKay Dimon
Contemporary Romance published by InterMix 19 Mar 13
I love series about brothers, and HelenKay Dimon has given me the Hanover brothers. All I can say is, “Thank you!”
REVIEW: Heater Seeker by Lucy Monroe
Veena’s review of Heat Seeker (Goddard Project, Book 6 & The Atrati, Book 2) by Lucy Monroe
Romantic Suspense published by Kensington 29 Jan 13
I very much enjoy this author’s paranormal series, and when I saw her name in a recent book search, I ordered the book without reading the synopsis because I thought it was a paranormal. When it arrived and I started to read it, I was surprised that I had missed a whole series of books by Lucy Monroe. It is hard to reconcile that this is the same author who wrote the Children of the Moon paranormal series that I so enjoy and anxiously await new releases for.
REVIEW: Fall For Me by Sydney Landon
Sandy M’s review of Fall For Me (Danvers, Book 3) by Sydney Landon
Contemporary Romance published by Signet 26 Feb 13
I have to give Sydney Landon props for creating memorable characters. It’s been a few months since my reviews of the first two books in this series, and before I began reading this lastest addition, I remembered quiet a bit from those previous books. That’s not always the case when it comes to book three and on in a series. But in this book I’m going to remember Beth and Nick for very different reasons than before.
REVIEW: Sold to the Enemy by Sarah Morgan
LynneC’s review of Sold to the Enemy by Sarah Morgan
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 22 Jan 13
Sarah Morgan is all about the heroine. Don’t get me wrong, her heroes are gorgeous, alpha, strong, handsome, all that, and they are bemused when they meet the woman they’ll eventually marry, because she sweeps him off his feet. But the heroines are the best part.
REVIEW: Immortal Ever After by Lynsay Sands
Sandy M’s review of Immortal Ever After (Argeneau and Rogue Hunters, Book 18) by Lynsay Sands
Paranormal Romance published by Avon 26 Feb 13
Nothing like reading your first book in a series at No. 18. Not that I haven’t wanted to read this series. I mean, it’s Lynsay Sands. I’ve wanted to read her vampires for a long time now. So when I wanted to read a Sands book recently, this is the one I had access to, so this is the one I read. While I’d love to have started at the beginning for the full impact of the series – especially these nano-produced immortals – I still loved every word of this story with Anders and Valerie.
REVIEW: Calculated in Death by J.D. Robb
Veena’s review of Calculated in Death (In Death Series, Book 36) by J.D. Robb
Romantic Suspense/Paranormal Romance published by Putnam Adult 26 Feb 13
I have been a diehard fan of this series and in some ways I feel that this one is a back-to-basics type of book with good old- fashioned police work necessary to solve the murder. I have expressed before that I am amazed the series is still going strong and do feel like many other people that we need a dramatic change to take this series to the next level or a way of bringing it to a good end.
REVIEW: Behind Palace Doors by Jules Bennett
LynneC’s review of Behind Palace Doors (Hollywood Series, Book 3) by Jules Bennett
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Desire 3 Mar 13
This is a friends-to-lovers story, and while not one of my favourite tropes, when it’s done well, it’s one of the most satisfactory romances there are. This one is done well.
REVIEW: Little Cowgirl On His Doorstep by Donna Alward
Wendy the Super Librarian‘s review of Little Cowgirl On His Doorstep (Cadence Creek Cowboys #3) by Donna Alward
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Romance 05 Mar 13
Donna Alward is an author within the Harlequin Romance universe that has a prodigious output and I can usually count on her to deliver romances about nice people shouldering plenty of angst. Her latest certainly doesn’t deviate from form. Unfortunately, the more I thought about the elements of the backstory, the more I found myself annoyed. Yeah, the heroine is a nice enough girl, but I went through the whole story feeling sorry for her sister.
REVIEW: Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian
LynneC’s review of Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, Book 12) by Lara Adrian
Paranormal Romance published by Delacorte Press 26 Feb 13
By moving the story of the Breeds on twenty years, Adrian has rebooted her series. The original heroes and heroines are all there—all of them—but now their children have stories to tell. This also cleverly moves the series into the currently hot New Adult sector, as most of the central protagonists are in their early twenties.
