Ms. Hill has an uncanny ability to get to the heart of a relationship and squeeze every ounce of emotion from her characters. In this new series Sam, Geoff and Chris are friends and room mates who want more from their relationship. Each one of them has hidden desires that they’ve never openly admitted in some instances even to themselves. This series gives the reader a wonderful insight into the dynamics of their relationships as they move through the dynamics of becoming a single unit.
Naughty Wishes Part I: Body by Joey W. Hill – 19 Jan 16
Sam is the submissive in the group and yet she alone has the courage to take the reins in her hands and go against her very nature to stand up and ask for what she wants and force her roo mates out of the status quo. Geoff is a dominant who has been experimenting with his dominance, yet acknowledges he has a lot to learn. In this first part, while all three have visited Naughty Bits and it’s clear that there’s some sort of sexual dynamic at play, Sam and Geoff first move beyond friendship while Chris is away.
While it is clear that Chris has feelings for Sam, it is unclear how these will evolve into a functioning threesome or even it will, especially when he returns to find Sam and Geoff together and is definitely not pleased.

Naughty Wishes Part II: Heart – 16 Feb 16
This second part is really devoted to the evolution of the relationship between Chris and Geoff. It’s clear that Geoff is the alpha in the relationship and acknowledged Dom. Sam is unapologetically submissive. What’s not clear is how Chis fits into these dynamics or even if he wants a role in a threesome beyond his feelings for Sam.
While the sexual scenes are hot and erotic, what really gets a reader is the emotional intensity and history between Chris and Geoff as they work out their dynamics. I like how Logan expresses that love has nothing to do with labels. It just happens between human beings and it hardly matters whether it’s two men or two women or any combination.

Naughty Wishes Part III: Mind – 15 Mar 16
This is one of the most compelling parts in the series as the threesome evolves into a fully functional unit. This is when Chris, the unknown, really finds his niche in the relationship. He’s definitely dominant to Sam but almost an equal at times to Geoff and sometimes a bottom. I really enjoy how the author takes some of the labels that are prevalent in the D/s world and brings them alive while stressing that each relationship and each dynamic is different.
For all of Sam’s courage in going after what she wants, it’s she who has the biggest setback when she goes away for the weekend and is upset by the comments of total strangers while dancing with her men.

Naughty Wishes Part IV: Soul – 19 Apr 16
I like how the author brings in some of her characters from Naughty Bits who are influential in helping this threesome get to where they are. It’s also great to get an update on how far Logan and Madison have come in their relationship, as demonstrated in their public demonstration of trust between a Dom and a sub.
As each part builds upon the previous, it brings alive a new level of trust and intimacy in the relationship between the primary characters. Clearly there’s a lot of heat as the intensity of the D/s dynamic increases in the relationship, whether it is in impact play or rope play or other forms of role play. What makes this series an A for me is the emotional intensity which sucks the reader into the story and never lets go until the very end. These are not BDSM stories but love stories in the truest definition of the word, which keeps me coming back again and again to Ms. Hill’s books.
