This just in…
Your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Mary Balogh is debuting all over again, this time in the paranormal genre sometime next year. However, in the meantime, she’ll be as busy as ever this summer bringing you her much loved historicals.
- Mary’s four-book Huxtable series is slated to be released during the spring of 2009. Keep reading for more…
- The first three books are already written and will be out in successive months: First Comes Marriage in March; Then Comes Seduction in April; At Last Comes Love in May. All three will be in paperback. Book four will be out about a month later in hardcover
- Mary will also participate in a paranormal anthology which is the brainchild of Susan Krinard. Colleen Gleason and Janet Mullany will also be featured in the anthology tentativly titled Bespelling Jane and based on various Jane Austen novels. It will contain two historical and two contemporary novellas
- Balogh’s contribution is to make something paranormal of the basic plot idea of Austen’s Persuasion.
- A little hestiant about something she’s not written before, Mary said, “I always find it difficult to resist a challenge, especially when it involves nothing more arduous than using the imagination”
- In October It Happened One Night, an Avon anthology, will be released. It will include four stories by different authors all having the same basic plot premise. Check Mary’s site in the coming months for more information on this novel idea.
Consider yourself flashed.

“Mary’s four-book Huxtable series is slated to be released during the spring of 2009”
Um, OK. I can’t be the only one who sees the name Huxtable and immediately thinks of Bill Cosby. I got nothing against Cosby, but I don’t want to be thinking about him when I’m reading a romance novel. Just saying.
Wendy! I KNOW! I kept seeing that tv show!
Ooo – I’m excited. I love Persuasion.
Sybile that is sick, lol. Wendy I never watched The Huxtables, yet immediately thought of it, too. Will be interesting to read her paranormal.
Wow, I can’t believe Mary’s going to come out with a paranormal story. I will most definitely want to read it.
