This is an exquisitely written story of a deeply submissive woman who’s failed multiple times to find her soul mate. Now defeated and discouraged, she arrives in North Carolina where she makes a fresh start taking over her recently deceased sister’s business, where she learns to dive into her customer’s psyche, helping them achieve their innermost desires while exploring her own. Can Madison overcome her fears to risk her heart and soul for the chance to realize the elusive dream that she craves? Will her sister’s confidante and business neighbor Logan Scott be successful in helping her realize her fantasy and find the hidden heart of herself?
My initial peeve with this series was that I had to wait to read this story over several months and could barely contain myself to wait for the next installment. In retrospect, I will admit that the gap between each installment helped to build my anticipation and made the overall experience much richer for the waiting.
Naughty Bits Part I: The Lingerie Shop

The first installment sets up the stories and gives us the necessary background between the characters. It lays a strong foundation for the rest of the story and gives us an insight into Madison’s dreams, hopes, and fears.
After seven tries in the love stakes, Madison has given up on love and suppressed her submissive desires deep in her soul. Her twin’s sudden death and taking over the Naughty Bits create a turmoil within Madison that stills when she meets her next door business neighbors, Troy and Logan. Seeing the interaction between Logan and Troy as master and trainee submissive rekindles her suppressed desires.
In his opening moves to establish trust with Madison, Logan gifts her with tools to help her explore her sensuality and give voice to her desires. As Madison uses his gifts in the privacy of her new home, her mind starts opening up to new possibilities, particularly as she weighs the temptation of attending a training session between Logan and Troy. Will she have the courage to attend? And will this, in turn, set her on a journey to bring her own fantasies alive?

Naughty Bits Part II: The Training Session

The second installment amps up the intensity as we plunge almost immediately into the training sessions and explore Madison’s desires and feelings as she assists Logan. I could literally feel the hunger leaping off the pages as Madison’s pulse and heart rate accelerate when she acknowledges Logan for the master he is. Logan reaches deep into Madison’s psyche as he engages her to become a part of the session, giving her a long-denied release and starting her on the path of opening up her heart and mind.
Logan keeps up the intensity through continued attention to her at her home and at work and through subtle gifts and subtexts. As her mind and heart open to new possibilities, we see a new and different Madison, who’s both fun and flirty, emerging from under the serious logical layer that she wore in the opening chapters. Reading this installment is akin in my mind to the transformation of a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly with its wings fluttering, hovering at the edge of a leaf getting ready to fly.

Naughty Bits Part III: Bound To Please

I think this installment might be the richest one in the entire series. As the initial euphoria starts to fade, Madison falls into a routine which is very different from everything she’s experienced before. She has really grown from strength to strength and made Naughty Bits her own domain as she revels in helping fulfill her customer’s deepest desires through her inventory. Her relationship with Logan also grows from strength to strength, but her fears won’t leave her be. She’s been bitten too many times to trust in the truth and possibilities for this new, fragile relationship.
Determined to prove to herself that the submissive skin she’s wearing is not just to please Logan, she decides to explore the other side of the coin using trusty Troy with permission from his mistress and Logan. This session is not just mind blowing for Madison but is just as much so for the reader as it reveals the vulnerabilities of both Madison and Logan. For the first time we get to really look under the skin of the Dominant and see how symbiotic the relationship is between the right couple.
The strongest message and my personal takeaway from this installment is that each couple defines their relationship in their very own unique way. There are no rules or right or wrong and one size definitely does not fit all.

All through the series the author has been sharing Madison’s fantasy either through her conversations with Logan or through her own thoughts and dreams. In this installment Logan, with exquisite skill and the help of friends and props, brings it to life with a depth and richness that burrows beneath Madison’s fears, finally freeing her to soar.
The entire preparation and execution, which takes up a large part of this installment, are written in exquisite detail and I couldn’t help but get caught up in Madison’s fantasy almost like a participant. The poignancy with which Madison bids good bye to her old fears and sloughs her old skin and Logan’s exquisite understanding of her needs and desires almost brought me to tears.

Overall Grade: A+
The emotional depth of this story will amaze readers. I personally feel as though I actually participated in this journey with Logan and Madison. “Remember Alice” will forever remind me of the true measure of control that a submissive holds in the relationship and the true measure of vulnerability experienced by the dominant in the relationship. Logan gave Madison many gifts along the way, but the one true gift he gives her is the realization that she is in control, even when she loses control. I don’t think there’s a writer out there who writes BDSM with the emotional intensity that wrenches their readers’ guts like Ms. Hill does.
