The purple on blue (nav bars) don’t really work for me. It’s not that I don’t like the new design, I just prefer the old one. But it’s nice to change a look once in a while.
And now that I think about it, there’s something about purple that romance bloggers seem to love. *g* You, RTB, Karen, Bam, Marg…I can’t believe I’ve just noticed this.
Gah. I hate it. Wasn’t going to say anything about it to anyone, but since you brought it up. *g*
Purpley wine things?
Snark Alert: remember when it was all the rage in the 1980’s to have a “Country” look with the four geese all walking in a row, each with a blue ribbon tied around the neck, the ribbon ends fluttering in the breeze? There was a restaurant near us which had the mauve wallpaper with the teeny white cat prints on it, slate blue trim detail, and the motif of the marching geese everywhere.
In late 1990’s they closed for rennovations. We went back and it was all done in wine grapes, framed pictures of eggplants, and black wire sculpture. My sister said, “Boy, they’ve got a knack for hitting the trend that won’t die.”
The RTB blog banner just screams 1990’s unhip, which is unfortunate since the motto is there telling you that you’re at a hip place. Nothing like stating it up front.
Okay, my memory must be more shot than I thought because I’m pretty sure I wasn’t all that crazy about the old theme but I can’t even remember what it was at the moment. I’m not wild about the new one but at least it’s more full screen and three column. (Can you tell I prefer those solely for more effecient use of space?)
And, hey, I like purple! I once did a theme in purple, green and orange. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t, er, restful either. Hehehe.

I never saw it before but I just went and looked at it now and I think it is a really nice looking blog.

Nope, I don’t like it. Too busy for me, too. The other one had a long, unwieldy sidebar, maybe, and that’s why they changed?

But I agree that the sidebar was unwieldy.
I don’t really like it, either. It’s harder to see.

It’s not horrible, but it does really seem to fit the theme, kind of looks more like a food or wine site.
I thought it could be a bit more polished because it is a bit busy for me. Less is the more.

eah, i can get used to it
I don’t really mind it. Although it definitely seems a lot busier.
I’ve considered changing my blog, but I would only have another derivative of purple, so no point really.
Purple rules!!!
I dont care for Michelle’s taste so am not surprised.
