Veena’s review of No More Yesterdays (The Heirs, Book 3) by Catherine Bybee
Contemporary Romance published by Montlake 17 Jun 25

Estranged from their father, the Stone siblings are surprised to be named his heirs. Now Alex Stone is sitting in the CEO chair, but the surprises keep on coming – mostly unpleasant, except for Hawk Bronson, security guard, protector, and sexy in the extreme.

Alex shows up to an exclusive CEO event, unsurprised to find herself the only businesswoman. Most of the women in the room are ones who would never be invited to a respectable party, and a lot of the men, some of whom she had respected before, can’t meet her eyes. Hawk Bronson and his team are providing security at the event, putting him in the position of rescuing Alex when she needs a helping hand.

Events in the family business continue to spiral with some of the board and senior executives in direct opposition to the Stone siblings. Hawk is there on hand to provide personal bodyguarding services. as they unearth deep-hidden secrets of some of Stone Senior’s involvement.

The story is fast paced, filled with anguish, romance, suspense – all the ingredients that make this a great read and a superb finish to the trilogy.  While the story can be read as a standalone, it will be better to read the other two before this one.  Ms. Bybee does contemporary romance really well.

Grade: A

Summary:

Taking over her late father’s company was never part of Alex Stone’s life plan.

But now, sitting in the CEO chair at Stone Enterprises, she’s resigned to living her life alone. Being a high-powered, billionaire woman tends to narrow one’s romantic prospects. As Alex works relentlessly to reshape her inherited hotel empire, she’s acquired a target on her back complete with death threats.

Alex turns to Hawk Bronson, a man who is equal parts bodyguard, sexy, and completely infuriating. Especially when it comes to protecting her.

As the danger escalates, Hawk comes to terms with the fact that their connection goes way beyond bodyguard and assignment. He knows he should keep his distance—his own dark past and nightmares put her at greater risk—but he can’t walk away. Protecting Alex means everything. Putting her life in someone else’s care isn’t an option once he’s tasted their passion and depth of his feelings.

As they navigate a minefield of family secrets, past pain, and unexpected hope, Alex and Hawk must face their deepest fears and fight for a future together. But first, they’ll need to unmask whoever is behind the threats—before Alex becomes their next victim.
