Veena’s review of What Happens on Vacation (Westmoreland Legacy: The Outlaws, Book 4) by Brenda Jackson
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Desire 29 Mar 22

This series by Ms. Jackson is fantastic. Alpha to-die-for men and the feisty women they romance. This one is no exception.  Paige Novak was the one that could have made Jessup Outlaw give up his bachelor status and set up a forever-ever-after with, but the timing is never right – until finally it is.

Jessup is a handsome senator, who decides to take off to a cousin’s Napa Valley winery for a bit of R & R, and, lo and behold, who should he meet but the beautiful Paige, who is hiding out there after her fiancé publicly betrayed her with another woman.  When the persistent ex-fiancé chooses to use the media to spotlight his remorse and try to win his way back into Paige’s life, Jessup and Paige decide to take the same strategy and play out a public romance under the media’s eye in Napa.

The chemistry between Paige and Jessup is explosive, and soon the sham romance seems to be turning into reality – reality that is somewhat complicated by the fact that Paige is an actress living in Hollywood and Jessup is a US Senator living in Washington DC. Like all romances, there is a fly in the ointment that seems to make working out these details moot, until Jessup comes to his senses and goes for what he wants.

A fast-moving, wonderful romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Grade: A
