Sandy M’s review of Jasper Vale (Edens, Book 4) by Devney Perry
Contemporary Romance published by Devney Perry 31 Jan 23

It’s always sad for a romance reader when a favorite series nears its end. This is the fourth book in the Eden family series, with one more book after that to go. Saying goodbye to this family is going to be difficult. The only silver lining is Devney Perry’s fans know whatever flows from her pen next will be worth a bit of sadness now while waiting for excitement later on.

While in Vegas Eloise Eden does the one irresponsible thing that may cut her dream of taking over her family hotel into tiny bits. Her parents have dragged their feet turning The Eloise over to her, and this latest mistake may be the one she’ll never recover from.

Continuing the good time over the weekend with her sister, Eloise goes right along with Jasper Vale’s crazy idea of getting married. It’s Vegas, baby! Thus, waking up the next morning with a ring on her finger and in bed with the handsome rascal isn’t what she needs. They make it back to Montana, all the while trying to figure out what to do to make everything right again.

Jasper is of the same mind that an annulment is the best thing – he won’t be in Montana forever. The winters just aren’t for him. But the more he thinks about Eloise being his wife, maybe she is for him. Besides, he needs a wife for an upcoming wedding, so when he throws out the concept of staying married and pretending to be in love, what could go wrong? They both find out very quickly exactly what that is. But is it all wrong?

No, not in the least. Especially when they both decide to inspect their changing feelings for each other, instead of just throwing away what could be a good thing for them. Secrets and emotions begin to tumble out as they share their innermost fears and their new feelings, so sure the other isn’t ready to experience anything so deep and all-consuming. These two are so captivating you can’t help but cheer for them and hope everything works out in the end.

If you haven’t read Devney Perry, start with this series. It’s fun, emotional, charming, and will warm your heart with every word. Then after you’ve read all five books (that’ll be in September when Crimson River releases), get started on your choice of any of her other series. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Grade: A

Summary:

Eloise Eden’s pride and joy is her family’s hotel in Quincy, Montana. Her lifelong dream is to own The Eloise Inn. All she has to do is prove to her parents that she’s the epitome of responsible. That her days of being duped and making reckless decisions are history. She’s so close she can taste it.

Until after one weekend in Las Vegas, she comes home married to a stranger.

Jasper must have put her under a spell with those soul-deep eyes because after a single night together, they woke up husband and wife. Her only hope is to keep this marriage a secret until it’s annulled. Then she’ll pretend it never happened.

Except Jasper begs her to stay married. To fake it for three months so she can accompany him to a wedding. Maybe she’s lost her mind to agree. But her brooding husband seems desperate. It’s only three months, right? Then she’ll say goodbye to Jasper Vale, and with any luck, hello to her new hotel.
