Kaitlyn‘s review of Capturing the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper, Book 4) by Kerri Maniscalco
Historical Paranormal Young Adult Murder Mystery published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers 10 Sep 19

By far my favorite book of the series! A+ for sure. This brought everything together wonderfully and was so much fun to read. It was everything I could have hoped for Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell. And don’t even get me started on how absolutely perfect Thomas is.

The murder-mystery-solving duo have found themselves in America with a career murderer terrorizing the country. I love how Kerri Maniscalco has taken real murderers from history and put her own spin on them. The character growth in the series is phenomenal as well. Audrey may have annoyed me a little in the third book, but she’s amazing in this one! Thomas, of course, hasn’t had a bad track.

I feel like I haven’t seen these books on booksta nearly enough. They deserve so much love. If you’re looking for a murder mystery romance with dark academia vibes, tons of twists and turns, and an amazing book boyfriend, you need to read these ASAP!

Grade: A+

Summary:

Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell find themselves aboard a luxurious ocean liner that becomes a floating prison of horror when passengers are murdered one by one, with nowhere to run from the killer.

Embarking on a week-long voyage across the Atlantic on the opulent RMS Etruria , Audrey Rose Wadsworth and her partner-in-crime-investigation, Thomas Cresswell, are delighted to discover a traveling troupe of circus performers, fortune tellers, and a certain charismatic young escape artist entertaining the first-class passengers nightly. But privileged young women begin to go missing without explanation, and a series of brutal slayings shocks the entire ship. The strange and disturbing influence of the Moonlight Carnival pervades the decks as the murders grow more and more bizarre.

It’s up to Audrey Rose and Thomas to piece together the gruesome investigation before more passengers die before reaching their destination. But with clues to the next victim pointing to someone she loves, can Audrey Rose unravel the mystery before the killer’s horrifying finale?
